Meal planning question
Yes, at least I can say my first grader is following in my footsteps as far as eating. He doesn't care for beef or pork at all, he eats alot of chicken and fish. Some veggies and alot of fruit.
Our bedtime snack is generally yogart and fruit. And yes, the other two are diabetic and usually do the carb coma thing after supper. That is generally when Sean and I go for a walk or ride bikes.
Yes, DiNick will probably do my plastics. So don't worry about kicking my ass. We will meet face to face one day.

Ya know Pam.... I think you should allow yourself to be as selfish and self-centered as you feel like being. This way of eating is about you and your own health - if you don't take care of yourself you won't be healthy enough (or happy enough) to take care of your family.
I'd suggest talking to hubby and telling him you're going to start making your own meals and that you need his support (against the MIL). Tell him that the "ugly" looks need to stop. It's not that you resent the meat and potatoes, its just that you need to eat what's healthy for you and your anatomy.
If all else fails... just come over to my house every night for dinner. :-)

Your point is very well taken.
If you read my response to Brenda, Duane is going back on second shift, so that will help out. I can plan soups, stews and casseroles that are WLS friendly and MIL can just reheat them for us.
Appreciate the invite for dinner. Sean would probably love the nights you have pizza.
Thanks

Good... glad there's hope with Duane's shift change. Definitely hit Eggface's blog for casserole ideas. Lots of WLS friendly stuff that doesn't taste "healthy" but definitely is healthy. You can pass that stuff off easy. LOL
