Help! Which Individual Insurance Will Pay For Gastric-Bypass?
Hello everyone,
I don't have health insurance right now and I want to have the gastric bypass surgery. What company will pay for this? I live in Michigan. I tried blue cross & blue sheilds Individual coverage but they state that they no longer cover it. Most individual healthcare coverage don't pay for gastric bypass. Please help!

As far as I know there are no individual health insurance plans that will cover WLS. At least I haven't heard of any that do. You might consider visiting the Insurance Forum here on OH - they might have some insight over there.
I know everyone is laying off or not hiring right now... but that's probably your best bet at the moment. To find a job that offers health benefits. I heard Starbucks' insurance covers it and you only need to work 30 hours (?) per week to qualitfy for the insurance plan.
The only other option is to save your pennies or look into financing options.
