Saturday Java!
Time to get the mug and enjoy a summer weekend! What's waking you up this morning? Decaf and black in the mug for me.....
DH and I are heading down to Farmer's Market bright and early today to beat the crowds. Probably get some fresh flowers and some just-picked potatoes. It's such a nice place-they usually have a group playing and lots of different booths. The Amish are there with their fresh baked goods and there is always a long line at the Salsa table and organic chicken sellers....
QOTD-After yesterday's heavy question, I thought I'd go a little lighter... Did you watch Saturday morning cartoons? What was your favorite? I used to look forward to Saturday morning so much when I was a kid. I loved "The Jetsons" and "Yogi Bear". I always wanted a robot like "Rosie" and I loved it when Yogi would say that he was "smarter than the average bear." I don't think they have the line-up of cartoons like they used to. Maybe it's because there are so many video games now......
Have a good one.

I am off to my mom and dad's to celebrate the baby turning 2. Wow does time fly. This morning I am having a hard boiled egg and a protein shake. I don't need to start my pre-op diet until Sept 26, but figure it wont hurt to do it now.
QOTD- I LOVED the Smurfs and Scooby-Do. With 3 kids all 6 and under I see a lot of cartoons and really miss the ones from when I was a kid.
Having my usual Starbucks this AM. Woke up with a stiff back. I think I need to visit the chiropractor for an adjustment! Dub's taking his morning nap. Sometimes, like now, with Dub upstairs asleep in his crib and my hubby sitting here, drinking our coffees on a Saturday morning, like BEFORE Dub just feels weird!
AJ's family was here last night for his birthday. We bbq'd and played in the pool with our nephews. Tomorrow, my family is coming over...so more bbq'ing and more playing in the pool with my nephews. Today, we're just hanging out at home.
QOTD: Oh yeah, I watched cartoons as a kid. BUGS BUNNY was my favorite. Of course, I don't think today's cartoons are as good. My nephews love cartoons, but my brother doesn't have cable, so we buy them cartoon DVD's...all the classics and they love them. They also LOVE McGyver and the A-Team. LOL!

My friends want me to go to the Woodward Dream Cruise with them this morning, but it's going to be a hot steamy day so I declined. I can't see walking around in the heat. I will take the old girl for her walk this morning tho.
Bad news, the appraiser didn't appraise our house for what we sold it for. She was $3,500 short. Now we've got to figure out how to recoup the 3500 without having to eat it all ourselves. Our realtor is working on it right now, checking how to save us from lowering our price. I think we've made enough concessions and that the buyer should have to do something. This is a real ***** I guess either way it goes, I'll be moving up north, because almost all of our stuff has been moved. I told Gary to hold off, but he didn't want to, he wants to be able to turn over the keys at closing. Our realtor suggested we at least stay in the house for 7-10 days after closing, but Gary didn't want to pay any part of the buyers mortgage. He's a stubborn ol' Russian Polock. I'm going to wait for the realtor to get back with me on how we're going to work things out before I tell Gary. He'll just go spazzy.
QOTD: I mostly watched the disney cartoons and heckle and jeckle if I watched cartoons. I preferred My Friend Flicka, and Fury, and the Lone Ranger and Sky King. Does anyone remember those?
Have a great day and stay cool.

QOTD- Under dog and the people from Planet Granite. Pop Eye The sailor. Loved Olive-Oil and Of course. "I would gladly pay you tomorrow for a Hamburger today." And I can't forget Chip and Dale. and Alvin and the chipmunks.
Got my homework done for the day, so I'm FREE!!! Heading to Port Austin to my special little beach where I first made the decision to have WLS (it's an August tradition). Then I'll bum around town a bit and probably find an ice cream shop or something equally delicious. Suppose to go to a houseworming party tonight, we'll see if that happens or not.
QOTD -- Several years ago when I was too poor for cable I was stuck with network channels. PBS quickly became a favorite. Zoombafoo was one of my favorite kids shows. Funny that I was just talking about this to a friend the other day.
I should add... yes, I did watch cartoons as a kid too. Smurfs, Jetsons and Flintstones.
Have a good day all!

I am trying to wake up with some sf instant breakfast. My whole house smells like vinegar again this morning because DH is making pickles and pickled peppers. Yuck. I hate that smell!!
I have to go grocery shopping later and that's about all I plan to do.
Deb, where is the farmer's market that you go to? I am going to be in Battle Creek next Saturday morning and I would love to take my sister's kids there.
QOTD-I always watched the Superfriends/Justice League with my brother. We also watched some kind of Japanese show, I think it might have been Voltron? I was a werid kid. I wanted to sleep late and then get up and watch 'Soul Train' and 'This Week in Baseball' and then I'd watch those crazy old movies with my dad. They were always westerns, or kung fu or vampire movies. That was our thing we did together when the weather was too bad for him to be outside in the yard.
Hope you all have a good day!
The Bank Street Farmer's Market is on Bank St. You can take Portage Road off of 1-94 and head north towards downtown. It is almost downtown. You can take a left on either Stockbridge, Marketplace, or Collins. The first intersecting road is Bank Street and you can't miss the market. It's a busy, fun place. Not too huge. Kids love to get fresh popcorn or cookies from the Amish. My favorite produce booth is Visser's Farm. Their carrots and potatoes are so fresh and good....

Almost afternoon all,
I had my carbquick pancakes this am w/ a fried egg on top and sf syrup. I LOVE these mornings when I have time to make that!! Reminds me of my childhood on the weekends up north, YUMMY!!!
Q: My favorite when I was very young was Kimba the white lion.....does anyone remember that? When I lived in Phx. no one heard of it but a guy I knew that grew up in Equator!!!
Then Scooby Doo (which I will still watch LOL), The Flinstones, The Jetsons and for non cartoon shows, how about The Adams Family and The Munsters. Man, those were great shows!!!
Thanks for the mental trip down memory lane.
Stay cool today,
Edie
