hiatal hernia & WLS

Does anyone know if a hiatal hernia prevents WLS? I'm scheduled for WLS on 8/20. Just had my endoscope & the Dr. found a hiatal hernia. Dr. says that shouldn't prevent me from having WLS but I still have to talk w/the surgeon about it. Thanks!

My surgery was 7 years ago and I have developed a hiatal hernia now.

I had a hernia when I went through my pre-op and my surgeon knew about it.  He repaired the hernia for Me when when I was in surgery and have been without one since.

Edited to add that I had open surgery and not laproscopic.

I had surgery in July and I didnt know I had a hernia, they repaired it during surgery and I have been fine since.
