I'm going to adopt the 30 minute rule.  I think it'll be much easier.

Good for you Jan . . . 30 lbs WOW!

I love the Ezekiel bread   . . . yummy
I'm 3 years out and can't keep raw veggies down and most meat  . . sometimes I think it's because I was to scared to try anything new.   And I'm jealous I still can't eat onions!

Good Morning all...well it's almost afternoon.

Great weekend, brought a travel trailer, exercised and picked some veggies from my garden that needs to be weeded out!...any takers? LOL

QOTD-Well I'm a big believer in exercise, it's a job...just do it. I also believe people reward themselves with food if they exercise, so if we can get out that nasty habit the weight will come off. Sometimes exercise makes me more hungry and some days not so much.

I know I would have never gotten to goal size if I didn't exercise. Thank God for my workout buddy and best friend Deb...she is my godsend!! And heck we have a wonderful time exercising together...we solve the worlds problems! LOL

Afternoon all,

Q:  I think ultimately it all boils down to calories, so if your eating allot you better be working out!  But muscle, age, genetics....all have some impact.

When I was going through cancer, my hubby went in maniac overdrive with research.  It was then that I realized how different we all really are.  What one drug did to me may not have happened to someone else (even if we were both white women same type of heritage in our 40's, same type of cancer...).  I think the same is true with our bodies ability to metabolize food, make muscle...

Scientists are so much closer to understanding our bodies, but I personally don't think we will ever have a "one size fits all" answer to anything.

Have a great day all,

Edie

I just know that anytime I have been successful with any type of weight loss, it has involved portion/amount control of food and moderate, sensible, maintainable exercise. When I do  not weight and measure, I have problems. When I do not exercise, it compounds the eating. So I know that, for me, it is a combo to make this sleeve work. And as far as "experts," it's usually one question, five answers. Facts don't lie, but facts can be interpreted any way one wishes for the desired answer.

Afternoon everyone!

I just got done working out on my lunch since I'll be at work late tonight and probably won't be walking.  THen I read the QOTD!  Crap, I hope it helps b/c I really don't enjoy doing it so if it doesn't help.....my attitude is why bother :-)

QOTD:  Seriously though, I agree with several others.....it may make a person eat more or give permission to eat more, but I do think exercise is more important for being healthy than losing weight.  To be honest, I was losing just fine since my surgery and never exercised much at all (well I did walk some****il about 3 weeks ago I started weight training 2-3 times a week.  I haven't really noticed an increase in my weight loss, but I do notice I'm not 'huffing and puffing' as much and I feel like I am doing my heart some good.  I also noticed I feel a little hungrier....that may be from the exercise....or that I am farther out??

Have a good day everyone.

Jan - WTG on hitting the 30# mark!!

I had a protein coffee when I woke the second time.  I had plain black when I got up with the little guy and was waiting for his Mom to come get him and his brother.

I moved out the living room furniture that was left.  Still waiting for the new stuff to come.

I finally hit the half way mark on my weight loss journey!

QOTD:  I have heard this and don't know how I feel.  I did Atkins a few years ago.  I lost a pound a day for 17 days and than averaged 10 a month for five months doing no exercise.  Than after losing 50 pounds I started walking and getting faster over time.  Doing about 2.5 to 3 miles on my 30 min break.  I only lost another 10 pounds over the next six months.  But, my lungs were defiantly in better shape.  My feet kept getting worse though until I had to have surgery.  That is what started the down hill battle leading to WLS.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

CONGRATULATIONS on being half way through your weight loss!!!!!   That is great.  I can totally relate to what you are saying about the Adkins.....I did it back in 2002 and lost 134 lbs......very quickly......like in less than a year.....never really exercised at all until I got thin then started walking....so I did lose great with no exercise.....BUT....I gained it all back plus more ........and same as you, led me to my WLS journey!
