New Member/ Psych Eval

Hello all. I am just beginning this journey. I passed the medical criteria for HAP, but have to pass the psychological portion. I had my psch eval with Dr Cathy Frank at Henry Ford last Monday. I am a bit concerned that the appointment only lasted about 20 minutes. How long do these appointments usually last and what are they looking for?

Since I didn't go through Henry Ford it's hard to answer that.  I also went with my hubby to our evaluation so we were there for awhile.

I just had to comment since a person with a tag name of exremesanity is asking their first question on the board (that I remember seeing) and it's about a psyc exam.....kinda ironic huh????

I went to Dr. Frank.  She passed me in about 15-20 minutes.  I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you acted psychotic or something!  Be prepared for a journey.  I was approved by Hap in Nov 08, then had to wait three months to get into the orientation/education class, then two more months to see the surgeon for the first time, then another month and a half to see him for the second time and I finally had my surgery on 7-16-09.  It was definately worth the wait!  Yesterday was three weeks since surgery and I'm already off of a couple of meds!
They want to make sure you're not just doing the surgery for looks, that you have your health in mind.
