Was it Camp Narin or Camp Indianwood in Lapeer?
It is what it is.

Camp O'Fair Winds!  Just north of Lapeer!  There was a Boy Scout camp on the other side of the lake but, I don't remember the name.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Good morning!  My hubby officially went back to work today.  He's working 1/2 days for 2 weeks, per his doc, to ease back into things.  So Dub and I are on our own today...for a while.  We have some errands to run sometime today.

QOTD:  I never went to camp as a kid.  I don't know if there was any particular reason why not.  It just never came up.  But my summer's were fun-filled so I had no time for camp..lol.  As a teacher, I went to 5th grade camp every year with the 5th graders.  We went to a YMCA Storer camp.  It was a blast.  As an adult, at camp, was the first time I ever rode a horse.  The camp we went to, though, had a seperate house for teachers and we didn't have to stay in the cabins with the kids and chaperones.  The house was air conditioned and they brought us snacks every evening.  Plus, it was situated far away from the cabins, so it was like a week's vacation!

I like the thought of camping, but lack the follow-through!

I was one of the schmucks in the cabins while the teachers were cool and eating bon bon's.  Did you kiss the moose?  Did you wear the golden toilet seat?  I did both.  I liked the idea of the learning about wasting food.  Fifth grade camp was a riot! and I'd probably do it again if I had the chance.  I even ate an ant!

LOL!!  I had forgotten about kissing the moose and the golden toilet seat...a very coveted award!  The wasting of food was a cool lesson.  I always liked the kids clamoring over the teachers to sit at their table!  I looked forward to going to camp with the 5th graders every year.  I was the only teacher that volunteered to go!  Of course, I may not have if I had to sleep in the cabins!

Hi everyone!

Sipping on my BIG glass of water I am going to try and finish before I leave work today.  I made a big pot of chili yestereay and had some of that for lunch.    What a gorgeous day it is outside today!!

QOTD:  I don't remember going to summer camp....maybe Camp Fire Girls when I was in elementary school.  But my kids (at least the two boys) have gone to Camp Nayati (sp) for 4-H and my oldest sone was a camp counselor for like 4 years.  He really enjoyed it.

We did do a lot of camping as a family though growing up.  We'd take most of August and go camping...my dad would only stay in State Parks so I've camped in most of the state parks in Michigan.
