Good Thursday morning!
Sitting here with my decaf and black watching the sunrise. It looks like another gorgeous Michigan summer day. The DH has today off and we may take the dogs to a park with a boat lanch to see if our newest dog will love swimming. Our former dog just loved to swim. So, we'll see what happens.
QOTD-Did you ever go to summer camp? If so, what was your favorite thing to do? August is always a big summer camp time when my kids were younger. They went to Camp Geneva on the Lake Michigan shore. I always wanted to take their place. I went to summer camp in the mountains when we lived in Colorado. Also went to camp a couple of times in Michigan. Loved archery and canoeing. Makes me want to go again....
Have a good one

Wow, everyone must be sleeping in with this cool weather.  I slept with a sheet and blanket lastnight.  This isn't august weather but the weatherman just said it's going up into the 90's next week.  Weird weird weather we're having.
QOTD:  I went to summer camp and I was always the tomboy of the group, collecting salamanders and garter snakes and bugs.  It was ok but I preferred going camping with my family.  We'd take the big tent and go to a state park (usually in Interlochen) for two weeks every summer.  I got to meet lots of friends and basically do what I wanted. (things were much safer back then)  I went fishing with my dad almost every day.  What wonderful memories.  My kids never went to summer camp because we camped with a group of about 10 families and did many long weekends during the year beginning with Memorial Day and mostly ending in October sometime.  We went all over Michigan, even up to Copper Harbor.  Now those were good times!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning everyone.

I am slow to get moving today...having some iced tea and hoping the little bit of caffeine will help me.  I just can't seem to wake up this morning.

This week feels like it's never going to end!  I swear it seems like a month since last weekend!  Thankfully I don't have any plans yet and my youngest trouble maker comes home, so I'm glad for that.

QOTD-I think most of you probably know that I wouldn't go to summer camp.  I did go to girl scout camp (where I didn't pee for 2 days because of the latrine so I ended up peeing my pants in front of everyone and got teased for years).  I also went to 8th grade science camp at Camp Storer in the winter.  Hated it.  Then, when I was a Cub leader I took the kids camping 5 times.  I hated that too, but I put on a good front and I think the kids had fun.

Have a great day!

It's amazing how different people are.  When my youngest was in 5th grade they went to Storer too and I was a chaparone.  I got put into a cabin with all girls with another lady who only had boys.  Such drama!  I had so much fun, I volunteered to chaparone the next year's fifth grade class too.  Luckily I knew a lot of the kids in that class too, and I had a great time that year too.  I just figured out, that was 15 years ago and I still wear my Storer Camp t-shirt.  I guess it's time to get rid of it eh?  But it's still good, and not worn out!  I'm pretty easy on my clothes.
Boy, you're really a hold out aren't you.

Good Morning All!
I can't believe everyone in my house is still sleeping . . . has to be this cool weather.  I've been sitting on the porch with the two dogs it's going to a beautiful day.
I had a good visit with the surgeon yesterday so it looks like I will be right on track about the end of September for my tt. . . I'm excited.
QOTD- My mom was one of those mom's who didn't let us out of her site so no summer camp for me.  She did become a Girl Scout Leader and we (me + 2 sister's) did get to go to girl scout camp for 5 days . . . but I agree with Brenda, didn't like the whole "nature thing".
I was the child from hell . . . I dared a girl to rub poison ivy on her face and arms  . . . so we both did  . . I knew I wouldn't get it and she ended up in the hospital . . . my mom wasn't very happy and that ended my scouting day's . . . and I still can't get poison ivy . . .

Enjoy the day!

I thought I told you . . . I'm bad . . . . the surgeon at Henry Ford dropped my insurance and no one told me so I had to start all over . .  I had my first visit yesterday in Flint.  It went  very well and I really liked him.  Oh believe me if I would have driven down yesterday you would have heard from and probably seen me!  Actually I was thinking the other day, I'm going to Traverse City in late October and you should be moved up there by then right?  so maybe we could get together.

Yep.  I'll be up there then.  We'll still be using our cell phones, so you've got my number and I'll expect to hear from you!

Good morning!

I had to get blood drawn this morning.  I thought I'd be smart and hit the lab that opens extra early so I didn't have to be late to work.  But when I got there at 7:05 there were already 3 people in line ahead of me.  so much for not being late to work, huh?

QOTD -- Oh yeah!  Summer camp was an every-summer type of thing for us.  Usually through the church youth group.  We went to the one in Rose City and every Spring they'd have a huge walkathon where we could raise money to pay for camp.  We had to raise $100 in pledges, then walk 20 miles (yes, really!) and our fee would be covered.

Each year they'd have a huge game of Capture the Flag involving the whole camp.  We'd split into two teams and after dark we'd have free run of the grounds.  It was the best part of the whole week.

I love sleeping in with the cool weather.  I leave the French door open and was snuggled like a bug in the comforter

Now drinking my 1/2&1/2.

QOTD:
I went to a church camp a couple times when I was a kid.  It wasn't the mature thing.  I really didn't have much luck with camp.  I was the fat kid that couldn't keep up.  I didn't make friends and would go sit by myself and talk to my imaginary friends.  I also got hit in the head with a rock bought in on a wave while swimming.  They had to call my parents to come get me as I was knocked unconscious and they had to close the wound with butterfly stitches.

My girls went to Girl Scout camp every summer.  They started at a camp in Lapeer when younger and went to the one in TC when older.  They also went to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.  The oldest made the Orchestra that toured the US and Europe.  My two youngest spent one summer at a horse camp too.  The grand daughter just got back from GS camp and can't wait to go back.
