QOTD-our traditional Friday ???. What's in store for your first weekend in August? No definate plans. Bariatric support group on Saturday. Must get more biking miles in this weekend, too....

Good Morning Deb and everyone.
First off, thanks for all of the great support from everyone in other threads.  I'm not going to thank everyone individually, cuz that is kind of annoying, but please know how much I appreciate you guys.

I am drinking sf hawaiian punch and having an apple with some peanut butter for breakfast.  Once the babysitter gets here, it's off to work.

This weekend we're going to a wedding on Saturday and DH is going to a family reunion in OH on Sunday, so it's just me and the Nickster hanging at home.  I would love to say I'm going to clean or something, but I'll probably just catch up on some shows that I DVR'd.  My youngest comes home next weekend (he's been gone since June) so maybe I'll work on getting his room ready.

Hope you all have a good day!!!

Hi all!

Doing coffee again today even though it was the enemy yesterday.  Hope we can be friends today.  When they say that coffee can cause gastro-upset, they weren't kidding!

QOTD -- I'm suppose to go to Detroit's Easter Market with friends tomorrow.  But I have a feeling they are going to bail on me again (they do this too often and I'm getting annoyed by it).  If that doesn't happen I'll either 1) find a race for the morning somewhere and/or 2) hit the beach somewhere and/or 3) go to the market by myself anyway.  No plans for Sunday and I've got Monday off work.  I plan to hit the nature trails a few times over the weekend and commune with nature and get a workout. So I'm looking forward to some down time.

Pam

EDITED -- as predicted, just got an email canceling the trip tomorrow.  Grrr.....

Good morning everyone...

I just had my protien shake and am going to start on either some SF koolaid or a protien coffee.  I've been reading on OH people drinking protien coffee so I decided to try and have a cup of coffe with chocolate protien powder and some splenda and a little skim milk....yummy...that was good.  Anything to help me get in my protien.  I'm bad though b/c I've been making it with regular coffe instead of decafe.  Do you think one cup of coffee a day is too much caffeine?  I know we are supposed to stay away from it.

QOTD:  I can't believe it is already August!!  Steve is coming up for the weekend and we plan on just hanging out and relaxing.  We might go watch the Great Lakes Loons play tomorrow night b/c the weather should be gorgeous and I haven't been to the Dow Diamond to see them play at all this year.

Have a great day everyone!

That Dow Diamond is a beautiful stadium Nan.  I've been by it a couple of times.
Well, this Friday is going to be busy.  Right now I'm eating oatmeal and then going to start on Protein shake.    I haven't tried the protein coffee.  Do you mix the protein with the milk first so it doesn't clump?
QOTD~  Today at 12:30 our buyers are coming for the home inspection.  I know a couple of things are wrong like the doorwall screen needs new rollers on the bottom, and the bathroom door has swelled and doesn't close all the way, but those are the only two things I think they could find wrong.  Hubby says he's not giving them any more money.  We already gave them concessions of $7,750 for closing.  Today, tomorrow and Sunday will be spent packing boxes of stuff I can live without for the next month.  Mostly kitchen and pantry stuff and probably some clothes.  Gary plans on taking a load up next weekend - consisting of garage and basement stuff.  I think this time it's really going to happen!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Jan,

Yes if you put milk in your coffee, mix your protien powder in your milk.  I use a shaker from GNC.  I make 16 oz of coffee and mix 6-8 oz of milk (depending on what protien powder i am using) and protien powder in my shaker and shake it until smooth and then add it to my coffee in my 24 oz travel mug.  The shaking also gives the milk a nice frothy top and give you a cappachino type coffee.  I use unflavored, vanilla, chocolate and my favorite is GNC chocolate carmel ( which makes a kick butt hot cocoa).  I do the same thing for hot cocoa, except I use ho****er instead of coffee.  If it isn't creamy enought, I add some dry milk.

I usually always start my day with protien coffee, hot cocoa or Pam's chia tea.  Not a big fan of cold shakes unless they are the rtd type.

I mix my protein directly to my coffee, but make sure it is under 130 degrees.  I have a small meat thermometer I keep with my "stuff" and check it beforehand.

I also use the GNC chocolate/carmel in my coffee - yum!

I tried it this morning with cookies n cream protein.  It's not bad, just ok I guess, palatable.

I thought the cookies n cream was a little "thin" tasting and a little too sweet for me too.  I found it to be "just ok" too.

I think I'm going to take it to the next support meeting and see if anyone wants it.  I've tried it a couple of times and still don't really like it.  Chocolate and vanilla are pretty good.  I need to start making some protein fruit smoothies in my magic bullet.  I might try vanilla with blueberries in it.
