Katie, the reason you aren't losing is because you had popcorn a few weeks ago.
  Just kidding!!

It's normal.  Your body is adjusting.  There isn't a set schedule for losing that you will follow.  Keep your weight on a spreadsheet and you'll be able to see patterns.  You'll probably not lose for a bit and then a big chunk of weight will drop.  As for barely taking in calories, you need to watch that.  Your body will go in to freak out starvation mode and hang on to everything.  Make sure you are eating enough or drinking some protein shakes so you aren't depriving your body of the fuel it needs.

Katie - it is perfectly normal! I had my surgery March 9th.  I went into a stall during weeks 3 & 4.  I was freaking out a little bit too.  Now, I'm 4.5 months out and I'm down a total of 89.2 lbs!  So the stall will break.  But, I just came off of another stall myself....hadn't lost anything since July 9th!!  WEll I'd be up a half pound, down a half pound, etc......frustrating.

I totally agree with Brenda.  In fact I do keep a spreadsheet of my daily weight and have been doing so since I started.  Then I have a cloumn that shows my daily loss/gain.  Some poeple may think this is anal and would say ditch the scales, but for me, it does exactly what Brenda says.....it shows your patterns of weight loss.  and for me, they are becoming pretty predictable.

Here's how I just broke my recent stall....on Thursday I started making myself drink at least 2 protien shakes a day (because I had basically given them up :-).  And I increased my water and since Thursday, am down 4.7 lbs.

So try that, increase your protien and increase your fluids.

Hope that helps.

Brenda - you're such a hoot!!  I get such a kick out of you :-)   I've been eating popcorn lately too.....crazing movie popcorn but haven't had any yet.  But Steve makes the BEST popcorn!!  He uses bacon grease as the oil.....oh, that's gotta be a low calorie snack - LOL !

You did not just tellme that Steve makes popcorn with bacon grease.  I know you wouldn't tell me that, it would be too cruel.

I wonder if BM is reading this.  If so, you just gave her a great idea for lunch LOL

I like to make the 100 calorie pack popcorn and put chili powder and parmesan cheese on it.  Yum!

LOL !   I'm sure that's why his popcorn is so good.  Yep, he keps a cup in the freezer and whenever he fries up bacon, he puts the grease in that cup.  Then, when he makes popcorn, he scoops some of the grease out of the cup...who needs butter when your popping it in bacon grease :-)

But yours sounds yummy....I never would have thought of chili powder / parmesean.....I'm going to have to try that....

Katie,

Stalls are very normal, it's your body adjusting to everything you are doing...it's trying to figure it all out!

I heard (don't know if it's true...I'd like to think so) that when the scale stops moving it's because your loosing inches.  According the "them" your body can't do both, loose lbs and inches at the same time.  All I know is it helped me mentally during the first year.

Be patient, stick to the program, and you'll get there.
