Protein experiment

After much deliberation, I have completed another protein drink experiment.  Here is the result:

I bought some Isopure powder in the Alpine Punch flavor.  My goal was to find a fruit flavored drink that wasn't milky.  I have been craving smoothie-type drinks.

I combined a scoop of the Isopure with 6 oz. of Baja Bob's sugar free Hurricane drink mix (found at Meijer by the other drink mixes).  I added some crushed ice with that in the blender and whizzed it up.

The result?  Not what I had hoped for, but not a total loss.  This made a sour, fruity tasting drink.  In fact, it reminds me of the Crystal Light slurpees.  The bad part is the texture.  It looks like a strawberry milkshake and did get frothy.  If you close your eyes and drink it, it's not bad.  If you keep staring at it, like I am, it is a little bit weird.  But, if you are tired of the same old chocolate, vanilla, etc. drinks, and tired of the milky tasting drinks this is good.  I think the best thing about it is it is sour.  Especially when you are first post op I think you miss that because everything is either sweet or savory.

GNC has a sale on the Isopure now, but when I came home and checked Amazon, I found it was cheaper on there.

I tried some of the nectars and thought they were way too tart for me.  Perhaps I mixed them wrong....  so I've been putting off trying them again, even though I've hard many people rave about them.  I do believe my tastes have changed in that regard too... I used to love stuff like that.

I'll have to try it again.  I'm always looking for something new..
