The scale can measure the weight of my body but never my worth as a woman. ~Lysa TerKeurst author of Made to Crave
QOD: We lived in the county on a farm. It was 1/4 mile each direction to the nearest house. My "best friend" lived in the next house to us. She was the only one in walking distance. She was never allowed to play though as she had had romantic fever as a baby.
My folks did take care of foster boys. That with my four sister, (two brothers much later.) Made up who I played with. I did have one friend in high school that was my maid of honor. Her folks moved up North after graduations and I never saw her again.
Bottom line is I never learned how to make friends. So, today it is just my DH and DD.
As a chubby kid, I used to try to be sneaky and ask around about how to get the fever. I figured I could eat junk like my dad and not be fat if I could just figure out how to catch it!!
Good morning Deb and fellow Michiganders!
Did Pilate's this morning at 0545. What a workout. I worked my inner core...what a score! LOL
QOTD: Best friend growing up...had lots of them, we ran the neighborhood. Played dodge-ball, Red rover, football, kick the can, jump-rope, sledding, ride our bikes all over. Swimming in the local creek, skated on pickle juice...yep pickle juice, grew up in Mattawan and they use to have a pickle factory. They ran off the juice, made it a pickle pond, pretty green ice to skate on!
Ahhhhhh yes, life was great as a kid.
Now as an adult, life is grand!!!
QOTD: My best friend(s) were JoAnn and Barb JoAnn, since birth and Barb since elementary school. If JoAnn and I had a fight I turned to Barb and so forth. I'm still friends with them today. JoAnn lives in Rochester, MI and Barb has moved to Florida, but with the internet and facebook it makes it easy to stay in touch. Barb was my tomboy friend and JoAnn was my horse and dog buddy. Good times, good friends.
QOTD: I have 2 older sisters (7 yrs and 5 yrs older), but we didn't really play too much together. We're great friends, though, as adults. I had one VERY best friend growing up. We met the st day of kindergarten and were inseperable til graduation. We lost track of each other for a while, but we've reconnected and remain very good friends.
