Thursday Morning Coffee

Good Morning everybody!
Time to wake up and smell the coffee, if that's what you drink. Had all good intentions of going to water class this morning but hit the alarm and fell back to sleep. DH isn't working today, so he wasn't up... Oh well, extra laps around the block with the doggies.
Trying to wake up with my usual. What's brewing for you this morning.
I loved reading the posts yesterday about toys and what you did during your childhood.
So, the QOTD is-who was your best playmate/friend growing up? Mine was my sister Phyllis. We rode bikes together and pretended we had horses. We put playing cards on the spokes when we thought we had a motorcycle. We rode to the pools in the summer to swim as there were a lot of public pools. Now that we are older, we are still best friends and still ride bikes together. Funny how things don't change over the years.
Have a good one.

I bought some folgers vanilla biscotti and caramel drizzle.  I want to try them because they sound good but I have to check if they are full of sugar (they probably are).  They also have caffine I am sure.  Does anyone drink caffine still?  I been doing good drinking more water and less diet coke.  I joined a site on OH called Back On Track Together so I can work on getting back on track lol.

QOTD:  My friends growing up were my younger brother and my younger cousin.  I didn't make too many close friends.  Same hold true for today.  I have one friend from college and my ex-husband who sometimes is still my friend.  I met my cousin a few weeks ago at the park with our kids.  I am trying to rekindle that friendship.  As for my brother he died in 2000.

Just a word of advice from an older lady.....

Try to get off all caffeine as soon as you can.....that means coffee, tea, chocolate, and pop.   No only is it bad for you, caffeine leaches calcium from your bones.    I gave up diet pepsi three months before surgery and haven't had a drop since and I don't miss it at all.

I know there are some who have put caffeine back into their diet since surgery, but you are better off with decaf.   I do drink a cup of regular coffee at work, but I also drink extra water to replace what the coffee depletes as it is a diruretic.

Just wanted to give you my thoughts - please don't take offense.

Good morning Michigan
or good soggy morning anyway!
I'm drinking water because I woke up grumpy because of the rain.  We needed it so bad But I had plans to be out and about all day!!   Oh  well  I believe I will survive the grumpies.

My new carpet looks so pretty!!    NOW all I have to do is get the rooms back together!   I cant move most of the furniture alone and hubby is working 12 hrs this week and that makes his days 14 hrs with the drive so I don't push him to do the moving  he is tired enough

We have a  train festival in town!   Hubby is a train enthusiast so you know we will be going to look at toy train layouts!!
My best friends were my older sister and younger brother.     We played outside with a lot of neighbor kids and boy did we have imaginations!   We are still close.
Have a great soggy day everyone!

Good Thursday morning.  I used to love Thursdays because that was 'Survivor' night, but I'll have to wait for a while for that again.  For now, I'll just be happy that it's 'Friday Eve'!

I am waiting for a call from my PCP about something for my back.  I went to see her yesterday.  I told her I was in excruciating pain and couldn't move.  She told me to rest, stretch, and gave me a prescription for sleeping pills.  Told me to take 2 Tylenol for the pain.  So I woke up this morning, unable to get out of bed without DH's help, couldn't get my son in his chair, etc.  I just called the clinic and said "Give me pain meds!!!"  It's funny how weird I feel doing that.  I think I watch too much TV because I'm afraid the doc will think I'm a junkie or something, even though the only pain meds I ever had were after my two surgeries.

Ok, I wrote enough for today. It's raining, but that's good for my grass and plants, so I'm ok with it.

Hope you all have a good day!

ETA: I forgot to answer Deb's question!  I was a total loner growing up.  I didn't play outside much, but when I did it was with my brother and his friends.  Now, I get to see all the people that I knew, but didn't really talk to, on Facebook.  It's really weird to see updates on the guy that sat in front of me for 10th grade history.  Gotta love the internet!

Hope your back gets better, Brenda. I know how painful that can be.

Good Morning,
I just sat on the porch and had a nice glass of ice tea.  I had an uncontrollable urge to go jump in a puddle . . but resisted.

QOTD- Both my sisters, I have one 15 months older and one 13 months younger so we were like triplets.  We did everything together and still do.  My older sister and I could get my younger sister to do anything she, eat dirt  . . . kiss a worm . . we were so bad!  Our grandparents lived across the street from us so we played farm workers a lot as they had a huge garden and we help picked weeds, they made it fun for us.

Thanks Edie and Pam I'm hooked on the Ezekiel bread.

It looks like a laundry day today . . . enjoy the day!

Good morning all!

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring!  So much for the hope of a good hair day, huh?

QOTD -- My best friend from (practically) birth through 4th grade was my neighbor Bev.  She was 6 weeks older than me, so she got a slight headstart on our friendship.  Our favorite thing was playing marbels in the "dirt pit" between our houses and building a tent with blankets over the clothesline in the backyard and sleeping outside.  Sadly in 4th grade her mother died and her father was an alcoholic and couldn't keep all 6 kids so they went into foster care and were adopted out all over the state.  We saw each other once in a while after that but eventually lost touch.

I wonder if you could find Bev on Facebook.  Worth a try.
