Wednesday Wake-up Call
Pam - I can totally relate!! We had a neighborhood who had 6 families, all who had 6 kids (good Catholic neighborhood - lol). So with 36 kids in the neighborhood, we were ouside playing all day long....Kick the Can, Capture the Flag, Whiffle Ball, Euchre Tournaments. and sometimes we'd put on these 'plays' in someone's garage where we'd rehearse for a week and all the mom's would come to watch our final show and we'd make popcorn and lemonade :-)
Oh, I wish kids now-a-days could have experienced what we did growing up. It's so sad to me that kids don't play outside anymore.
What was funny is each of the families had a different way of 'calling their kids home' so like my mom would ring a bell, another family had this triangle thing hanging on their porch she would bang on. One dad would just do a loud whistle....We'd all get called home for dinner and then back out playing again until after dark!

Good morning all.
I am at work, hunched over my desk. I did something to my back and I'm pretty mu*****apacitated. I have a doc appointment later tonight to see what's going on.
QOTD-I had a Mrs. Beasley doll too! That was the only doll that I really liked. I was a weird kid. I didn't have many toys, just tons of books and the TV. Gee, I wonder how I ended up being overweight? LOL
Hope you all have a good day!

All that talk about not sleeping yesterday jinxed me. I have been up since 2 AM and am at work now looking and acting like a zombie.
QOTD-What was your favorite toy as a child?
I had a Thumbelina doll, which I still have. It is now nearly 50 years old. My mom told me they didn't sell them in small places like Detroit (which was the third biggest city in the nation at that time) so I was shocked when I opened it Christmas morning. She has a nob on the back that you wind and she moves her head. Still works!

Good Morning!
Just finished shopping at Kroger . .boy I love to shop when there isn't anyone around. I was out of Carbmaster so I went and stocked up.
Drinking grape sf kool-aid this morning.
QOTD- I had a stuffed monkey . . you talk about a weird kid! It was blue with plastic feet and hands and face . . I still have it and my grand-daughter plays with it every now and then. I did have a Mrs. Beasley doll also but she just wasn't as much fun as throwing the monkey around!
Enjoy the day!

Well, I took a xanax last night and slept 10 hours, didn't roll out of bed until 10 this morning. I'm feeling a little weak today and just a bit out of sorts. You think maybe I did a little too much a little too soon? Duh. I'm also finding that I can take in more than one ounce every 10 minutes. I have no trouble eating 3 ounces of soup at a time. Am I stretching my pouch?
QOTD: I didn't really have any favorite toy that I can recall. We used our imagination and did a lot of pretending. Horses being the most. I was a tomboy so I was always in the woods looking for snakes, salamanders, frogs etc, and playing Tom Sawyer in the swamp on a raft we built. I did have a Betsy Wetsy, but it was no big deal, and I could have cared less about Barbies.
