Grand Rapids, MI DS Get-Together Thurs., July 30th
We're having a DS dinner get-together Thursday, July 30th at Logans, near Rivertown. We'll plan to meet around 5pm but 2 of us are coming from dr's appts, so we'll see how that goes:) So far, it looks like we have 9-10 people coming, all from different stages of the DS journey-we'd love for YOU to come too!! As it gets closer & I get a final count, I'll call ahead to Logans-not sure if they take reservations, but I'll check then. So, I'll put our reservation or hold under my name "Lisa", kay?! Let me know here, on the MI board, or pm me if you plan to come! Also, Logans offers the 2 meals for $14 before 6pm, in case you didn't know.

I was chatting w/ Jillian on my way to Chicago yesterday, and she was mentioning names.... I can't believe Donna is going to come all the way from the east side! So cool. It will be great to see you again --- we can celebrate that you are now under your goal weight with some cheesecake (oh, we celebrated with Logan's cheesecake last month BEFORE you hit goal --- HeHe, any reason to eat cheesecake will do!).
Thanks for getting this together, Lisa. Can't wait to see everyone and meet some new people.
Oh, I went to Rabkin's Chicago support group meeting last night --- his bariatric coordinator went through the soon to be published 11-16 year post-op DS study. OMG, the results are so fantastic!! Absolutely amazing.

Highest Known Weight = 370# / 59.7 bmi @ 5'6"
Current Weight = 168# / 26.4 bmi : fluctuates 5# either way @ 5'7" / more than 90% EWL
Normal BMI (24.9) = 159#: would have to compromise my muscle mass to get here without plastics, so this is not a goal.
