New to MI Board
Hi all,
I am fairly new to the board but have read a lot of your posts and I love how supportive you all are of each other. I am having RNY on August 19th at Sparrow. I am really looking forward to it but a little apprhensive as well. HAs anyone else used Sparrow? I've been pretty impressed with their program so far.
Any thoughts and tips for the coming days would be greatly appreciaited. I start the pre-op on Wednesday.
Have a great day and weekend!
Carrie

Hi Carrie and Welcome to our little corner of the world!
I havent used your doctor but I just wanted to say hello and to invite you to post as many questions as you want. We finally have a great mix of newbies and old timers and also surgery types. But mostly, we have great PEOPLE. Caring and concerned.
Good luck to you on your journey.

Welcome......what surgery are you having???
Sorry, I didn't have Sparrow either, but I'm sure you'll find someone.
I love the MI boards, we have a great bunch of people here.

Hi to everyone including Carrie,
This is my first post and, even though I'm a member of OH, I don't see my name listed as a member of the Michigan forum. At any rate, it's good to know you're all here because face-to-face support groups don't happen nearly often enough. I'm scheduled for a sleeve gastrectomy on September 21 and am beginning to realize what a big deal this is. I know it on one level, but it's beginning to become real. I'm reading about the postoperative diets and thinking, "Why don't I just do that now?" Obviously, because I can't!
I'd love to hear from anyone who's newly postop and able to eat so that I can know it really works. It's kind of like being pregnant: There's only one way to get through this and that's to get through this.
Carrie, you will do great. You're doing the right thing and you've come to the right place for support.
