Wild Wednesday Coffee

Ok, I have to interject on the Starbucks bashing.   LOL!  I agree.  Starbucks can taste burnt, especially if you brew it as they suggest (2tbsp of beans to 6 oz of water).  When processing their coffee, they roast the beans to the point of burning them, which is how they get such a strong flavor.  I find that buying pre-brewed SB is way too strong.  When I brew it at home, I brew one coffee scoop (I believe ours is 2tbs) to 2 cups of water.

I will agree that Dunkin' Donuts is also good.  SB breakfast blend, tho is pretty mild.  It's my favorite!

QOTD- I'm not a movie person . . can't seem to sit still long enough.  I have thought about going to see the new Sanda Bullock movie but haven't made it yet.   I do have a few DVD's that I seem to put in over and over again you know that hookie "non reality" stuff.  Sleepless in Seattle, American President . . . you know that "happy ending" stuff.   I'm a "hopeful romantic".

One more day Jani . . .  can't wait until your on the loser's bench!

Howdy and Happy Wednesday.
I'm home from work again with a sick boy.  My pouch is all in knots today because I'm worried about NIck and I'm worried about how much trouble I"m going to be in at work.  Ugh.

QOTD-I love going to the movies, but don't get to do it enough because of the babysitter thing.  DH and I used to go to back to back movies when we were dating.  I can't handle tearjerkers, like My Sister's Keeper, so I stay away from those.  There is a new movie with Adam Sandler (who I don't like very much) and Seth Rogan (who I LOVE) so I will try to go see that when it comes out.  I like comedies and chick flicks, but not the sappy ones.

Thanks for the well-wishes for NIck.  He'll be ok....I think it's just a stomach bug but I don't like to send him to school when he's sick.   There are a lot of medically fragile kids in his classroom so spreading germs isn't good!

The thing about my job that makes me so upset is that I work alone.  I do all the payroll, HR, bookkeeping, taxes, etc. by myself.  So if I don't come to work, or I'm late, I can work on the weekend or later in the evening to catch up.  I don't deal with customers and no one depends on me being there at a certain time.  But, my boss thinks that if you don't follow the usual 8-5 rules then you are a bad employee.  Ugh.

Good morning all -

Thankfully I'm feeling better today -- no more yucky tummy.  I had to run an errand on the way to work this morning, so I got in late.  Just finished up some yogurt and granola for breakfast.  I'm seriously thirsty though... need Purple Smash! 

QOTD -- When I had the 5 days off over the 4th of July, I hit the theater one day and did a double header.  Saw The Proposal -- cute movie, hilarious and very good... the dancing around the fire scene was so funny I was dying laughing!  Also saw The Solist -- OMG!  This was so good.  I'm so amazed at how good of an actor Jamie Foxx is.

Well, today's the day.  I'm going to school to get my school "stuff" (10 years worth) because I'm not going back to work.  The plan all along was for me to stay home after Dub came, but after AJ had the strokes, we weren't sure.  Or at least I wasn't.  But he is adamant that I stay home with him and I can't imagine leaving him ANYWHERE anyway!  So, I'm done teaching.  Wow.  It won't sink in until it's time to go "back to school".  I always get excited to buy "school" supplies every year!  I'm as bad as the kids!   I'm going to finish my master's degree (about 1/2 way done) and probably when Dub goes to school, I'll get back into teaching (unless Dub ends up with a sibling).  

QOTD:  This is a funny question because just the other day I noticed that the X-men movie was in the $1 theater in Ann Arbor.  Hubby and I had planned a date to go to that movie, but we didn't get to because of the strokes.  So we haven't been to many movies this year.  I would like to go see Night at the Museum II.  I love Hank Azaria and he has numerous roles in that movie.

I know it is a sad day but also happy because you get to be with baby Dub all the time... I am happy that you will get to enjoy that. It has been proven that child learn so much more when they are home with parents rather than being in daycare. At least it was shown to us when I was in school for ECE...

Im drinking sugar free grape kool-aid.  I feel like a kid with this stuff. :)  I'm feeling a bit better today, but honestly I haven't tried to eat too much.  I am taking my son to the dentist today for his first visit ever.  He is very excited about getting a new toothbrush.   Tina- good luck today.  I am betting your day will be full of a lot ofdifferent emotions. :)  Edie to answer your question about the water yesterday.... Yes,  It tastes awful to me,  I am hoping it gets better.  ??

Qotd~  I never get to the movies anymore. I also jus****ched taken the other night.  We do try to rent a movie now qnd then.  I think the last movie I went to see was wild hogs.  ha-ha .  It really has been awhile.  Take care all !
