It's Monday Morning already and time for a wake-up call. What's brewing this morning. Just having my weight control oatmeal and then a cup of decaf and black a little later.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Couldn't of been better for me. Did the KalTour bike ride yesterday and made it up the notorious 6th street hill. Was so proud of myself. Gorgeous biking weather yesterday!

QOTD-What WL rule is the hardest for you to comply? I find the no straw rule the hardest. I asked my PA last week about it and she still says no straws because of dilating the pouch. Summer time makes it harder to follow it. I like straws in a restaurant. Very hard to follow....

QOTD-My struggle right now is giving up my diet soda again!  I gave it up before surgery but got tired of just crystal light and water all the time.  I was bad and started drinking a little here and there.  Now I am in the process of giving it up again.  Right now I have a bottle of water next to me.  I did notice that I lost 2 # this week after starting to drink more water.  I was stalled since 6/19.

It was beautiful weather this weekend.  I had a picnic with the kids everyday.  First we met a friend of mine, next we went solo and yesterday we met my cousin and her kid.

I am so excited!  I been wanting a cell phone other than my tracfone.  I had 2 tracfones since 2001.  Anyway, I filed bankruptcy in 2005 after my divorce.  I thought getting a regular cell phone was not within my reach.  For the heck of it I went to the apple store online and applied for a iphone with at&t.  I was approved.  Well now I had to buy the phone.  How?  It had an option you could apply for a juniper itunes credit card.  I really hesitated but in the end I said what the heck.  I applied and was approved.  In 5-7 days I will have my first non-tracfone cell!!!  My credit must be improving.  I haven't had a credit card  in a long time.  I am also in the process of closing my home purchase with the USDA.  Lots going on.

Good morning all!

Still sipping my fake latte this morning and going through a pile of emails and making my task list for the week.

QOTD -- I tend to be more compliant with rules if I know the reason for them in the first place, so I do pretty well with most all of them.  I do struggle with consistant exercise though - simply because my schedule is so tight and I literally have to put exercise on my calendar in order to find time for it most of the time.  It took me a while to figure out that I needed to exercise before I got home from work during the week -- once I get home I am too drained to deal with a workout, but if I do it right after work and before I get home, I'm OK.  It's going to be tough again in the winter because I can't deal with the cold to do my workouts outside and I don't really like the gym that much.  But because I know it's a struggle, I tend to work harder to comply.

My usually decaf and protein for breakfast this morning

QOTD:  Drinking while eating.  This is real hard for me NOT to do.  I used to get a glass of water and have it just sitting there - but if I do, I always take a few sips or drinks, then I find myself drinking the whole thing.  I have to just resist any liquid in front of me - and I do feel better when I don't drink while eating.  (does alcohol count? - lol)

Weather was gorgeous this past weekend.  I spent the weekend moving - ugh.  What a lot of work.  We took Sat afternoon/evening off from moving and went down to the Cherry Festival and watched the Air Dogs (dogs that jump in pools competition).  I've always enjoyed that.  Did a little shopping in downtown TC, then came back to the house (moving from) and had a bonfire in the new firepit.

When I woke up this morning in my new place - I felt like I was set free.  It was such a great feeling!

QOTD-What WL rule is the hardest for you to comply?

Staying away from high calorie band friendly foods, like ice cream.  I do real well with most of the rules, but eat just enough ice cream and other treats to slow my weight loss to a crawl.

And then there is the rule about exercising, and the one about drinking water, and .....Ah, well, as I say, progress, not perfection.

Happy Monday, all!

Good Morning everyone!

QOTD:  i have to agree the hardest part for me has been the straw rule.  I always drank from a straw (except it was milk) Even my ice water I would always drink with a straw and in a restaraunt I would never drink from the glass I would always use a straw, so that one has been an adjustment!  It's also been an adjustment not drinking with meals.  That's a tough one too.

Have a good day everyone!

Well, my first day on this site, so just a shout out "Hi" to all from MI. My date for the sleeve is August 3 at Flint Hurley with Dr. Kralovich. I begin my liquid diet next Sunday. Have all of my supplies and am ready. Pre surgery appointment is this Wednesday and nutritionist meeting is Thursday. After eight months of hoop jumping, it sure is coming up fast! Be nice to meet others on the journey.
