Sunday Sleep In
So where is everyone this morning?
I have been up for a while with Nick. There is absolutely nothing in the house to eat, so I'm waiting for hubby to get up so I can go to the grocery store. Pre-op, I would have fried up 3 potatoes with cheese and sour cream and told myself I had to eat it because there wasn't anything else in the house.
So, the QOTD is: What is something you don't do anymore that you did frequently before surgery, or before starting your weight loss journey (ugh, I hate that term, it's way overused!)
Mine would be mindlessly shoveling in whatever food I could get my hands on, just so I would feel full.
I hope you all have a great Sunday!

I looked on here probably three times this morning looking for a Sunday thread. I was on the OFF forum and decided to open one on the Michigan Forum. Lo and behold you had just done it! Thanks.
I think my biggest problem was eating when I was bored or watching TV. I won't be doing that anymore.
Down 8 lbs since Thursday is incentive for me. 4 days til surgery. I know you guys are getting sick of my countdown, but just bear with me...

Hi Brenda,
There are so many things I don't do or do differently now than before. Almost as many as the things I can do now that I couldn't do before. The #1 thing I do not do anymore is go to fast food places. I am trying to out them out of business, it seems. #2 would be no more Diet Coke, which I use to drink all day from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to bed. I even use to keep a can or bottle of Diet Coke on my night stand.
I hope that all is well with you. Jani, congrats on your up coming surgery.
Best wishes,
Nick

I was trying to take a nap with Dub, but he only slept for about 20-30 minutes, so my nap was cut short. Otherwise, I've been up since about 7:30, made breakfast, etc. So, a nap was in order!
We hit a milestone this week....DADDY CHANGED HIS FIRST DIAPER, EVER!! LOL!! He's changed a total of 3 this week. Now that I know he can do it, he's not getting out of it anymore!
QOTD: Good question. I NEVER used to share my food. I know that sounds stupid, but I would get SO mad if someone (like my hubby) would just eat something off my plate without asking. Now, I couldn't care any less. I guess before I was too consumed with having it all to myself. Now, I know I'll be full before I even get close to finishing food, especially if we are out at a restaurant. I guess that's a better thing than before surgery when I kinda "hoarded" the food on my plate!

Wow, can I relate to the sharing food thing. I always felt guilty about it, but the feeling was there anyway. I wanted it all, plus some, especially if I really liked it.
I'm looking forward to not wanting to finish everything on my plate, and not being able to. Lately it has amazed me how much food I can actually put away. A few weeks ago hubby and I ate a whole Costco roasted chicken in one sitting. Love that chicken!!

umm Jan, I eat an entire chicken post RNY. I used to grab one on my way home from work cuz it was an hours drive. That way I wouldnt be tempted to stop at a fast food joint. Yep, imagine me, sitting in a traffic jam on 696 with a big ole drumstick in my hand waving it at traffic, cussing, texting, im-ing, emailing, crashing...... The local news would report: "we believe that chicken played a part in this accident...."
hey, we need protein, right???

Been there done that! I am still trying to break the 50 year hoarding habit. I have hoared since a child. My first baby sitting job I used the money to, you got it, buy food and hoard it. While other girls bought maku-up and stuff. I haven't broken it yet, even though I can't eat it I still have to "save it". One day I hope I'll get so tierd of throwing out old food I'll get it thru my head
