My insurance is most likely going to change come January, so my hubby has suggested that if I'm planning on any plastics that I should get them now.  My question is does anyone have anything good/bad or indeferent on Dr. DiNick?  My consult is July 18th in Ypsilanti Mi and was just wondering about him.  I read several posts/reviews on him all which were good, but I guess I just want some reassurance that he's a good one to pick for surgery.   I was so on the fence about getting plastics and now I feel like I have to do it now or never!   I am looking into getting a tummy tuck and a breast lift and reduction.  Thanks for your input.  Lori

I posted this on the Plastic Surgery Forum, Grad Band forum and the Lapband forum also.

 Lori,
If you search some of my posts you can read some of what I went through with my TT.  I had it back on December 15 with DiNick and really like him and the folks at Barixx.  I heard several times "99 out of 100 patients won't have this happen", I just had some wacky stuff that nobody is quiet sure why (I ended up needing 4 units of blood).  With that said, I would do it again.  I love the results!  Would I have any more plastics -- nope!
Again, I really like DiNick and he's great at what he does and I can't say enough about ALL the staff at Barixx.  If you want more details shoot me a PM

Hi Lori,

I had Dr. DiNick for my TT last year.  I really liked him, especially post op.  Yeah, I am the only one of my friends that had to have her drains in for the full six weeks.  But, I trust that DiNick was doing it for my own good.  If they get pulled too soon, that fluid puddles in your pelvic area and you get hard masses and your TT is basically ruined.  So, just be prepared for him to do the right thing for YOU.  One of the regulars on the MI board chose a U of M doctor who told her she wouldnt need a Vertical cut, and it turns out, she wishes she had it afterall.  I dont know why the doctor wouldnt want to do that, because it creates that hourglass figure we all crave.  well, cept for the guys, i dont think they crave it, well, maybe next to them, but not for a surgery option....

just get as many consults as you can.  also, dr. hing is very good and works out of barix and st joes as well.

good luck.

I'm the regular that B's talking about.
Totally regret not having the vertical cut.  I have a nice flat spot where my TT was, and above that I have a GIANT muffin top.  It's frustrating!!  Make sure you look in to the entire procedure.

I have been warned about the vertical cut- it's a good thing and something to ask about if he doesn't bring it up.  But from everything I've heard about Dr. DiNick he will most likely bring it up.  Thanks for the response.  Lori

Hmmm, he didn't 'advertise' it as an hourglass figure for me!!  Totally appreciate that vertical cut.  And drains in for 6 weeks, you're lucky I had one in for 8 weeks!!!!  Could've been worse though!
