Good Morning everyone!
Enjoying your Friday? It's the holiday for lots of people and I hope you are taking advantage of it and catching a few extra z's.
Are you having your usual wake-up mug this mornign? I am before I head out for Friday Ladies bike ride.
Many prayers for our OH family. It's been a heavy week with the losses and the upcoming biopsies  and surgeries. We are family and will be there for all of you.
QOTD-What's your favorite part of the 4th of July Holiday? I love the fireworks. It's been awhile since we've gone. We always went when the kids were little. Now, my DH always works both during the holiday day and then he goes back to work crowd control in the evening (he's a cop).  But, I can see fireworks from the house from the Speedway that's just a few miles away. Can't stand to watch them on TV.
Have a good Friday!

Morning Everyone

I am heading into work today.. The Dr called in sick yesterday although I do NOT believe he was really sick... We were suppose to start working on our yard today because I was not suppose to be working but I am heading in anyways... What a bummer.. So we are delayed about 4 hours because of it.. I just want it done at this point ya know. LOL

Deb I agree it has been a tough week with everything going on here on the board. I do have some good news to share though.. yesterday morning we received the call that we are officially liscensed and should be receiving a call at anytime with a child that has come into care that needs a foster home. We are thrilled and nervous all in one.

QOTD: 4th of July is not that important of a holiday for me.. I just try to remember the reason we are celebrating. I used to go up north every year but we have not been in a few years.. But sometimes we would go to the figure 8 race and that was the best part of the holiday. I am not all that into the fireworks. Around here I think it is a nuisance because to many people just do the M80 or firecrackers.. I do not like those since I have animals in the house.

Well off to work for a few hours then coming back to dig dig and dig in my backyard.

Good Friday Morning to everyone.

I have the day off of work today......and Nick woke up around 3:45am and did not go back to sleep.   I think he thinks since we don't have school and work it's time to play.

DH is working in the yard today, so I'm inside hanging out.  I have to run to the mall later and get shoes for a wedding coming up.  Oh poor me....having to go shopping.....LOL

Since we don't do picnics or really go anywhere, I guess my favoirtie part of the 4th is being off of work.  That's my favorite part of any holiday!!

I hope you all have a good one.  I second what Deb said about all of the "issues" we've been facing.  It's nice to know there are people here that care and will listen.

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

Looks like a bunch of us are trying to get projects done around the house this weekend. I am trying to help hubby... We were quoted around 3000 for this job and since we are doing it ourselves it has cost us around 500 bucks so far... Our backyard is always soaked for days after a rain so we are hoping this helps that problem and allows us to cut down on the mud that the girls might be bringing in if we let them in the yard to play. I know that you'd love to have those muddy little footprints all over the house.....no matter how much of a mess it makes!!!

You should see Dave out there.  He has on an old holey t-shirt, big baggy shorts, a red bandanna tied around his head 80's style, and work gloves with the fingers cut off.   He's sweating his butt off.....and I totally appreciate that it isn't me!

Good Morning All!
Well I'm wrapping up my midnight shift this morning and will be on 10 days of vacation beginning at 11:30 . . . I can't wait!
It's funny on how much I thought about all the stuff going on this week where on the board . . . your right we are a family here and it's nice to know that.

QOTD- I love the fireworks - Bay City makes such a big deal out for the whole celebration and I just love it.  I live pretty close to the downtown area and if you hate crowds and noise you should go away for the weekend because it's a party for three days.  I have learned to love it  . . . it makes living here much easier.  Of course I love the whole flea market and it's prime this weekend.  I can see the fireworks from my driveway and watched them last night before I came into work and will do the same tonight with my daughter  . . . sitting around my little fire pit . . . no marshmallows for me though.  Tomorrow for the big fire works I will be putting on my walking shoes and heading downtown with the daughter to people watch.

Enjoy your weekend and whatever you do be safe.

Good Morning Michigan.
I'm  drinking my peach stuff this am.  Switch to tea for later in the day.  I  found out yesterday a couple of the fruit teas at Abby's are sweetened  with splenda so maybe I will try one of those as a change once in a while.  Especially since I am going for Kansas for a wedding  and will be able to enjoy a glass  or two on the trip.
I agree this has been a week  of all kinds of things going on needing prayers.   Still sending those up.
Susanne, congrats on becoming a foster parent.  It can be one of the most frustrating, madding experience of your life  that is also the most rewarding!!!!!!!!!
QOTD   My favorite part of the day is thinking our forefathers and what they went though to give us our freedom and the reason for celebrating the day,
Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning everyone!

I've missed chatting with you this week.  Steve and I had taken the boys camping and we got back into town Wednesday.  I had to shower and get into work because it's quarter close for me and a real busy time of work to be off.    Camping was fun, but rainy and wet....cold :-(    We did take the boys golfing the day it was sunny - 27 holes!  I don't golf, but I walked the course while they drove carts....great exercise and I had fun finding balls in the woods and trees :-)

I used to love the fireworks when the kids were little.  I remember growing up as a kid, we had 6 kids in our family and my mom and dad would make big paper grocery bags full of popcorn and we'd drive to the fireworks and eat popcorn and do sparklers......nice memories.

I also like the Bay City fireworks but haven't been there in about 5 years.  For me, I'm just enjoying the weekend to get caught up on housework, laundry and yardwork.

My coffee has gone cold and I'm starving.  We're heading to Hillsdale for the weekend, but not getting very far.  I've got a clingy baby on my hands today.  He only wants me and cries...rather, screams, if I put him down for a nap or if hubby takes him.   I did get a quick shower during one 10 minute nap, before he woke up and realized I wasn't holding him!   I even got him to sleep for about 30 minutes in his bouncy chair, which is sitting inside the pack and play.  Plus, hubby is having an off day and not really feeling like picking up the slack, but he has.  His headaches are bothering him again, today, although they have been MUCH improved.  He's been able to cut back on pain meds, so that's good.

I have to agree with all of you in saying this place is like a family.  It's so comforting to know that there are people out there in this world, that I've never met, that genuinely seem to care!  It got me through some tough days in May...oh, heck...the whole month of May!

QOTD:  Watching the fireworks on the lake in Hillsdale, from our boat.  For the past 20 years, we usually spend the entire 4th on the lake on our boat.  We take our boat out.  My sis brings hers. Cousin brings his...aunt and uncle...etc.  We tie up together in middle of the lake and just hang.  Then at night, we go to the north end of the lake to watch the fireworks that are launched from the fairgrounds, about a 1/4 mile away.  It's always a blast.  This year, though, we're just going out on my sister's pontoon boat.  Our boat hasn't made it to the lake yet, and under the cir****tances, hubby may not get it out this year, as I'm not able to get it in the lake on my own.

Enjoy the 4th!  Tina
