New Surgery Date
Yikes. Wanda phoned me today and said they had a cancellation and did I want it. Of course I said yes. I weigh in next Wednesday and have my surgery on July 16th. I'm going to have to really start being strict with my diet. I don't have a scale up here in Interlochen so I'm not sure what I weigh right now. Yesterday I had a burger and fries and a malt at Culver's. It was yummy, but I'm kicking myself for it right now. If I've gained weight, they won't do the surgery. I don't think I have, but I can't be sure. I didn't bring my blue instructional binder up with me, so I'm going to have to get home and read up on my pre-op instructions. I know I'll start my all protein diet on the 9th, but...oh gosh...I'm getting nervous. I haven't been doing too well on my exercise either. Now it's a must. Hubby was going to come up here tomorrow for the week, but I'm going to go home on Monday or Tuesday, so he may just decide to work. Well, this blows my month of relaxation. Maybe I'll come up after my surgery. Who knows.

Jan,
I forgot to tell you that this same thing happened to me. They called me at work and said they had a cancellation and did I want my surgery in 5 days. Heck yes I did!!
Also, about exercising.......if you don't do it now, don't push yourself too much. Set a small goal...like tomorrow I'm going to walk for 10 minutes. And just do that. The next day, add a few more minutes. If you think you are going to start exercising like a crazy person then you are setting yourself to feel bad if you don't do it. The idea is to get yourself moving on a schedule and anything you do is better than doing too much and feeling overwhelmed and wanting to quit.

After weigh in on Wednesday I'll be starting my all protein diet for a week, then on the 15th I'll be on only clear liquids. It did seem that surgery was so far away. Now it's almost too close! (not really just getting the jitters) I know it's normal to get nervous and scared and question my decision, but I also know it's what I really want to do. I knew I'd get the hee bee jee bees. This too will pass.
Way to go on getting a new "improved" surgery date. The same thing happened to me. I had everything planned out , than wham! If I didn't already have a pro op date, I couldn't have taken it. But, the next thing I know I'm in a nut class and starting the 2 week liquid diet. I got my diet kit the day I had to start. Had to go met the fed ex guy as he hadn't left it at my house and I wouldn't have it in time if I waited for the next delivery day.
In lots of ways if is better this way. I didn't have time to stop and think about anything like getting cold feet.
