I home from my TT
Feeling really good!!! He wasn't sure if he was going to do the vertical cut, said I probably would not need it. He said he would know during surgery. To be honest, I wanted it, I wanted the side skin gone too. He said I didn't have much. He ended up doing it though. Thank god!!
He also said he did tighten the muscles. He said not so much on the top, because it wasnt that bad, due to me not having kids, but he said the bottom ones needed it.
He also has me on vicodin, I asked for liquid, I got the pills. Oh well, they still work! He also has this numbing medicine in my stomach. What a difference that makes. I think this is easier than my RNY. I also have 3 drains.
I am resting, and taking my meds faithfully as well. So hopefully it is all smooth sailing from here.
Thanks everyone for supporting me and giving me advice. I also cannot shower until Thursday, when this numbing meds comes out. Can't wait for that. I cannot take off the bandages for a week though. Is that normal?

Congratulations! Who was your surgeon? I also had the pain pump with the numbing medicine and I thought it was great. I didn't even take any of my vicodin - - I used extra strength tylenol and was really okay with that. I had steri-strips over my incision that stayed on until they fell off, LOL. I had 2 drains; one came out after the first week and the other one was in for 3 weeks. How's your belly-button? Mine was full of dried blood and looked absolutely grotesque until after my first shower.

My gastric bypass doc did my tt. I too have the steri strips. I won't get to look at my belly button until tomorrow. He won't let me take that bandage off until then, because that's when I get to take the q pump out myself. He said once that is out I can leave that one uncovered-if I want. I cannot wait to see it. He took a pic during surgery of it. However, there are so many steri strips, I can't really see anything.
He also said not to take a shower until I see him on Tuesday. I can take a sponge bath though. I bet even that will feel good. I am going to do that tomorrow as well.
