Good Morning everyone! It's the last Friday in June-WOW
Hope everyone survived the hot stretch we had. Looks like cooler weather for the holiday week. My raspberries are starting to turn red!
What's waking you up today?  Will be brewing the traditional black and decaf.
I guess you'd have to be living in a bat cave not to know that Michael Jackson passed away. Almost as big as when Elvis passed away. Not an MJ fan, but he sure impacted the music industry.
QOTD-What's the weekend for you? It's either a bike ride in Centreville for "Bike to Build" or Binder Park Zoo with the great-nieces. Will know more later today.
Have a good one.

Good Morning Michigan.  My delightful cats decided at 530 am that they wanted their breakfast of canned food!   So much for sleep  as there are right now 8 of them.   Soon to be 4.  Anyone want a sweet kitty????
I am drinking peach water again.   Kind of in a rut  but it does get the water down.
I think the music industry has lost a talented man in MJ  but I guess I'm  weird,   I feel the same about his death as I would my brother,  the man down the street or anywhere.  It's too bad he died so young  but then  it's too bad when anyone dies that young.
My weekend plans involve  nothing real exciting.  Don't have kids right now so gonna take advantage in getting some deep cleaning done.  Have a great day everyone.

Good morning from the sunny UP.I'm enjoying my first cup of vanilla flavored coffee listening to the symphony outside. The Werns are really in rare form this morning.I've spent the last three days in the pool, the water was almost like taking a bath! Hard to believe it's almost the end of June.Remember hearing when you were young, the older you get the faster time goes by? I always thought they were nuts, how can time change just because you get older!! Now that I'm getting older,LOL, I realize they knew what they were talking about.

Hi Gussie:
My kids are in Paradise  spending the weekend - think they are going to the Sault today for some kind of festival.   They saw a really big moose last nite around 1 a.m. as they were driving up to Paradise -- son said it kinda scared him at first....anyway he called me this morning to let me know they were there safely....he's 36 and I still worry about him -- that's the problem with being a MOM !!!!

DIL's folk still live up there -- My late hubby and I went every year for a week or so to the U.P. and I haven't been since....I miss it so.  Maybe this fall I'll take a long weekend and take my gf up.

Good morning everyone!  Wow - the last Friday in June.....it flew by didn't it?  I have a feeling the whole summer is going to fly by.  I need to make an appointment for my son's senior pictures and before I know it the end of the summer will be here!

Very sad about MJ...what a music icon.  When I was younger (in my twenties) I worked at the Health Club and taught aerobics and a lot of the music I used were his songs :-)

One more day til we leave for camping.  Plan to do a little fishing, canoeing and golfing.   Looking forward to a relaxing 4 days of vacation vs the vacation I just had where I went to NY....that wasn't exactly relaxing.   I need a real vacation after that :-)   I'm looking forward to a campfire too....glad the weather is cooling off a bit next week!

Have a great day everyone!

Nan

Hey all!

I woke up this morning to my alarm and couldn't figure out why it was ringing on a Saturday morning.  Much to my disappointment I finally realize it was Friday and I needed to get up to go to work.  Dang it!  I hate when that happens.

QOTD -- Tomorrow I MUST find a 5k race to do.  I've got a goal of doing 2 races a month and I've only got 1 done for June... so tomorrow's my last chance, huh?  Sunday evening we're going to celebrate Father's Day a week late.  Everyone was out of town last weekend, so we pushed it back to this weekend.  Also need to clean the house at some point and do a boatload of schoolwork.

Have a good day all!
Pam

Hidy Ho Neighbors!
I'm at work drinking my sf grape Kool Aid and contemplating life.

I love, love, love MJ's music, but I'm pretty much over hearing the news.  It always amazes me that we, as a society, are shocked when someone dies.  It happens every day, and just because someone is famous shouldn't make it more shocking.

This weekend I am just working around the house and hanging out in Nick's kiddie pool.  DH's aunt passed away this week so he has to go to a loooong Russian Orthodox funeral on Sunday.  That means Nick and I will be on our own, so we'll have to find something to do around the house.

I hope you all have a good one!

Good Morning!  We are surviving the heat with three air conditioners in the house.  Our house has electric baseboard heat so no central air.  We have three window air conditioners; one on each level of the house.  While we have been working on our upstairs, we moved our bedroom to our living room in the basement.  It usually stays pretty cool down there, but this week, we we just couldn't keep it cool enough, so we broke down and bought the 3rd AC unit.  We have a small one upstairs in the spare bedroom for my mom and her husband.  Otherwise, we'd just need the 2.  I'm sure you all were just dying to know that!  LOL!

Today, I'm having a bit of coffee.  We don't have any errands or doctor's appointments today, so we are just hanging around the house.  Tonight, we'll go to town because they are having a big celebration this weekend for the 175th anniversary of Chelsea.  Tomorrow, we are going to Hillsdale for the day, possibly the weekend.  On a high note, AJ saw the neurologist yesterday for a follow-up.  They are very pleased with his progress and lifted the "no driving" request.  He never felt like he couldn't drive, but wasn't sure of the legal ramifications since doctors said no.  But legally, since he never lost consciousness, he is fine to drive.  His cognitive abilities weren't affected at all, so that was the main issue.

I think MJ was a highly talented singer/dancer, however, I don't get into all the hoopla.  I think too much emphasis is placed on "famous" people and all that they do.  I can understand celebrating the man's musical accomplishments, but hailing him, practically, as a GOD is a mistake.  Beyond his talents, I don't know if there's too much to celebrate, in my opinion.

Enjoy the day!  Tina

AJ gets to drive!!!  That must be so good for his self esteem!  I'm glad to hear things are progressing, in what seems so fast to me, you both must be thrilled.

Pass on my congrats,

Edie
