Tuesday Morning Coffee
Like Tina said, I'm sure it's a hormonal thing. And props to your son for wanting both wife and mom happy. You raised a good boy!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention....my mom also called my youngest son "E.T." because he looked like an alien when he was born. So there you go. LOL
I wouldn't worry about it Jan, when a baby comes, all of this stuff is forgotten.

Good Morning everyone!
I'm at work drinking SF grape Kool Aid (it was on sale at Meijer!!). Today is supposed to be a 1/2 day for me, but my boss is messing with me, so I'm not sure when I'll get to leave.
QOTD-I did get to be overweight by being a picky eater. I don't like much of anything. Does Taco Bell count as ethnic food? Or Olive Garden? That's about as ethnic as I go. My DH's family is Ukrainian, and I don't like anything they make at family gatherings. Bluch :(
Oh Jan.....I don't mean any disrespect, but you probably shouldn't have said you don't like the baby's name. My mom did that and it still makes me mad (my son is 14). It's such a personal thing to come up with a name you love for your child, and then to have someone say it isn't right can be really hurtful. My son's name is Nick and my ex mother in law always called him Nicky, despite what I asked. It drove me insane. Us daughters-in-law just get kind of sensitive about these things. Eventually his name will grow on you, and become part of his personality.
I hope you all have a good day!

I guess I really blew it huh. I hope she forgives me some day. It's not worth holding a grudge over...especially when it's not me she needs to please. Like you said it's a personal thing and why worry about what someone else thinks.
I wonder why you're still holding on to the anger? I wouldn't shorten the name, by adding a 'y' I'd have a pet name, different all together.
By the way, I like the name Nick. Nice and strong.

Speaking of ethnic foods...pasta, etc. I bought this yesterday at Meijer and am going to try it for lunch:

I will let you know how it is. I loved pasta, but it kills my pouch, and has too many calories for me to even think about. There is a recipe for "pasta" premivera on the back that I'm going to try. Wish me luck!!

Morning Deb,
Just finished my hot choc, then on to water. I am going to see tHe Nut at GHP to help me with my calcium issue. I don't like doing the liquid calories of milk. They don't recommend it either, but it may end up that is one of the things I will have to do to get some of my calcium in for the day.
Today is a bit of housework, and then of to my parent's house. Hospice was called in yesterday ( Thank Heaven), told us that it would be very soon.
QOTD- I like all types of ethnic food, Chinese has not set so well with me since my RNY. So I don't do that anymore. I don't do a lot of Italian because of the high calories and pasta. I do eat Mexican alot. Sometimes, I will make high protein, low calorie versions of traditional Scottish recipes from our family.
Have a good day, Phyllis
