Good Monday Morning,everyone!
Back from the weekend and ready for another week! Hope it's been a good one for you. We are in summer-bonifide! What's in your morning cup? The usual for me!
Had a lovely outdoor wedding this weekend. The grounds were soggy, to say the least. The daughter's nursery is now a lovely sage color after we painted yesterday. That was one hot work job as they have no air conditioning in their house.
QOTD-After Randy's question of sleeping on the ground, how many of you are campers? If so, rustic or modern? I actually like Hampton Inn camping, but if we do the other camping, we use a tent. DH likes to sleep on the ground, but I like a cot or air mattress. Nothing better than a campfire and breakfast outdoors. May need to go camping later this summer..
Keep cool!

Good morning!  It's still morning and I'm posting...WOO HOO!  LOL!  Drinkin' some black decaf, trying to decide what to have for breakfast.  I know as soon as I get up, Western will wake up, so whatever I have has to be quick!

At some point this afternoon, my mom and her hubby will be here for the week.  My mom has doc appts. with her Neuro at U of M this week.  She has Parkinson's and slight dementia.  It'll be a trying week with her, her hubby and my hubby all here!  Today I have to figure out what we are going to eat all week that's easy and then go grocery shopping sans hubby and baby.

QOTD:   I "like" the thought of camping, but we haven't actually ever gone tent camping.  We do however, have a 34 foot travel trailer with a full bath to include a corner tub and a queen size bed, a/c, microwave, full kitchen...LOL!  So, that's how we've been camping.

Enjoy the day! Tina

Deb, you can come paint for me if you are experiencing any withdrawal from the fumes or the hard work. I tried to convince Randy to  do it when he was on his painting spree, but no luck so far!

I think my camping-in-a-tent days are over.  We used to camp all the time and loved it, but once you give up the equipment it is very expensive to replace it all, and as you said, the Hampton Inn works just as well.  You can still get outside and enjoy nature, and then take a hot shower and sleep under clean (lets hope anyway) sheets.

Good Morning!
I am getting ready for work, waiting for the babysitter.  Why is it that all winter I am freezing and then I sweat so much in the summer?  I spent all this time doing my hair and make up this morning, then I brought in the garbage cans from the curb and I look like a crazy bag lady.  Ughhh!

Ok, so camping.  Believe it or not, I was a Cub Scout leader for many years.   Yes, I took the boys camping every year.  Yes, I slept in a tent that I put up myself.  Yes, I had to use a latrine that young boys peed all over.  I smiled and sang through it all, and hated every second of it.  I don't even like to WALK outside, let alone live out there.  I did go camping with DH one time and I didn't complain.  I was happy just to go somewhere!  Ohhh....the other day I gave my son and a few of his friends a ride home from school.  One of the boys was one of my former scouts.  He told the whole car full of kids how "awesome" it was to go camping with me and how I was an expert at living in the woods.  Hahahaha!  Little did those kids know that I packed my curling iron and drove in to town and put on make up and did my hair in the McDonald's bathroom!  Sshhh, don't tell my secret.  LOL

Hope you all have a great day!

I'm  drinking water this am.  Have to go to the store for some tea when I wake enough to drive.
I had a great weekend up north  at Benzonia Then a nice family get together yesterday with my family.
We got home last night to find the fridge had gone out  and the freezer was all thawed out and every thing a mess,  Yuck!!!!!
So my exciting Monday includes finding a repairman and cleaning out the fridge!!
  have a great day everyone.

Well, Protein Chai Tea for me this morning.  It's becoming a habit :)  We finally had to turn the air on Saturday.  I turned it off last evening because it was beautiful outside.  Turned it back on this morning cuz it's supposed to be 84 today.
QOTD:  We started out camping in a tent, moved up to a pop-up, then to a travel trailer then to a fifth-wheel with all the amenities.  That's the way to camp, spending most of the day and evenings outside and then comfortable in bed at night.  Deb, I also did a lot with the Boy Scouts.  Both of my son's are Eagle Scouts so you know we weren't lax in the support department :)  When hubby couldn't go camping with the troop I did.  Come to find out it was illegal since I was the only woman and slept in the same big cabin with all the guys.  No biggie to me but I guess it is with BSA.  We had a wonderful time being involved with BSA and even now (my boys are almost 30 and 27) they look back on those times and talk and laugh.  Brings a smile to my face knowing that I did something right at one time in my life.

Pray for Katie as she goes under the knife at 10:45 today.  She's going over to the losers bench today!

Morning All

Coffee gone, 32 oz water behind me and working on some herb tea.

Had a relaxing day off on Friday and hated to come to work today.  Got some sad news on Saturday, my grandmother who is 97 is in the last days of her life.  We are going day to day right now.  She was my mentor as a child.  I loved to spend my summers with her.  She taught me how to cook  and was my spiritual guidance.  I will be visiting her today on my lunch hour to say my goodbyes.

QOTD - I am a Holiday Inn camper.  I used to tent it, pop up camper, trailer and then 5th wheel.  I prefer the beds at the hotel better.  I still go with my parents a couple times a year, but when I go with my hubby and son, generally a jacuzzi tub is in our plans.

Slow day at work, so I guess I better find something to do.

Pam

Good Morning,
I'm back to work this morning - I wish I could say I got all my painting done the last five days but I played more than worked and it was great!  I have to finish up because my carpet is coming on Friday and I need to be ready. . .
QOTD-I camp at the Holiday Inn - I need a place for my curing iron.  I do go once a year with my brother and his wife but they camp like you Jani in a nice 5th wheel.   There was a time when I camped in a tent and then moved to a pop up but when my arthritis got so bad sleeping on the ground and then trying to get up wasn't worth it.  But I have to admit there is nothing like enjoying a camp fire at the camp ground.
Enjoy the day!

Good morning!

My usualy decaf and protein powder this morning.  Its gone, just got done chewing on frozen watermelon - oooohhh teeth hurt!!

QOTD:  As a kid we did the tent/pop-up/5th wheel camping.  I loved it.  As an adult I did the tent camping and jumped right to a 27' travel trailer.  Sold the trailer, and now I have a motorcycle, I'm back to tent camping.  I love camping (air mattress of course), with camp fires, meals cooked outdoors, etc.  Of course I camp only at full facilities camp sites so I get my showers, hair dryer, etc.  Oh - and I pull a small trailer behind my motorcycle so I can take all this stuff with me!!

Godd morning everyone!   I'm back from NY !  I missed chatting with you all each day.  OMG....Thursday ended up being a nightmere.  OUr flight out of Detroit was @ 7:20 am on Spirit Air.  We got to the airport at 6:00 only to find out our flight had been 'cancelled'... So we had 3 options is what they told us.  Wait for the 2:00 flight w/ Spirit, they could get us on another airline, or we could go home and take a refund!  OMG, the people from Spirit were so rude.  we decided to take the flight on the other airline.  That one flew to Washington DC, then to NY.  Well, as we are sitting there waiting, it got announced "FLIGHT has been cancelled due to mechanical problems!!!!  Okay, that is two flights....cancelled! so we go back to spirit air and their 2:00 flith is now full and they said 'we are not their passengers anymore because we chose the option to go with another airline so that other airline will have to take care of us.  we go back to that other airline.....they can get us out at 3:20 on a flight which flies to North Carolina, then to New york, arriving at 6:30 PM!    so we all get booked on that.  Then, finally we realize maybe we could fly into Newark instead of Laguardia.   So we did find a direct flight but since there were 9 of us, we literaly waited until the very last minute to see if we could all get on and we did.

Then, get this, we get on the flight (supposed to leave @ 4:00) we don't board until after 5 because it has been delayed.  They finally board us and all of the sudden the captain comes on and says, we need to unboard the plane b/c it is going to be at least an hour and a half longer and their crew was going on the maximum flying time allowed in a day and if the delay was too much longer we might be stuck in detorit for the night.   So we all get off the plane and sit again....waiting  Finally about a half an hour later, they reboard us and we take off......6:30 PM  when we had a 7:20 am flight.......so we basically lost Thursday in NY after sitting in the airport more than 12 hours!

Anyways, we had a great time after putting Thursday behind us and thankfully nothing went wrong with our flight home yesterday.  Oh, and can you believe, Spirit wouldn't even give us meal vouchers or anything !  It was amazing to me that they could get away with affecting so many travelers and they just had this "I don't care" attitude.

QOTD:  now that I've rambled, for the questions, I loved camping as a kid.  WE alwys had a pop-up.  When I was married to my ex, we had a 30 foot travel trailer with a/c, stove, fridge, tub, shower, etc...so it was a different kind of camping.  I love campfires and camping.  Steve and I are actually taking our boys camping leaving on Sunday and the boys will sleep in a tent and he & I rented a trailer :-)
