My niece is looking for a plastic surgeon to do some breast repair work that takes medicare/medicade.  If anyone has any ideas, I would greately appreciate it.

To my knowledge neither medicare nor medicaid will pay for platic surgery after weight loss.  It's considered a cosmetic procedures and not medically indicated.  I think we'd all like to find a way to have insurance pay

She hasn't had WLS.  She is on disability because she has epilepsy.  She has always had one breast that is almost a cup size bigger than the other.   She is very self concious of this, and her doc said he would help if she could find someone to do the surgery with the insurance she has.

I don't know,- but perhaps a psychologist or psychiatrist could help her justify it to her insurance.

I personally think she is grasping at straws, but it is something she wants done.  I told her I would ask to see if anyone knows.  The Medicare and Medicaid websites are useless in finding information.

I have directed her to one the local plastic surgeons office, maybe she can bug them for info.  I am sure they would know if plastic surgeons take it.  They may not, they don't take hardly anyone and you have to prepay everything with them before the doc will see you.
