Good Monday Morning everyone!
What's brewing this morning? Decaf and black, here
Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Just got done reading all of yesterday's posts. Bad weekend for reactions, for sure. May everything be calm. I was having a hard time, yesterday with some food getting stuck that don't usually give me troubles. Maybe it was the barometric pressure? go figure
QOTD-Yesterday was rants, so what is your raves? I bought some Michigan strawberries on Saturday at Farmer's Market-WONDERFUL! Fat, gorgeous, sweet and juicy! May jam up a flat later this week.
Get out and enjoy today!!!

Hi Deb and fellow Michiganders....

How much did you pay for your strawberries??   I went over to our fruit farm and they were $3/qt. but beautiful and sweet.  They weren't saying how much a flat would be yet.

I rave about the fact that I can now do so much more than before WLS.  At 70 yrs old, it just doesn't seem possible to have so much energy.

Glad the week has begun - weekends are extremely lonely for me.
See both my PCP and foot Doc this afternoon and on Thurs. I have
pre-op tests at Borgess for my hip revision surgery.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi Pat,
I paid $3.50 for the quart. I didn't price the flats as I don't buy them at the Farmer's Market. The Market is always higher than what you can buy them from local growers.

Good Morning all,
Today starts summer vacation, which I don't particularly care for (besides the nice weather).  The babysitter is working more hours and it's a constant struggle to figure out who is going to be here with Nick for the next 3 months.  But hey, the sun is shining, so that is good!

QOTD-I too bought strawberries at the FM this weekend.  They were $4/qt, but that is an Ann Arbor price.  The guy on the corner here has MI strawberries for a much better price so I'm going to pick some up later for freezer jam.  Here's my rave:  I have never, ever, ever paid any attention to produce.  I didn't know the difference between a homegrown and a Meijer strawberry.  I honestly didn't care.  The only time I actually ate strawberries is when they were in a pie.  It's strange to me to be excited about fruits and veggies (ok, excited is too strong a word).  But now I actually care what I'm eating.

Hope you all have a good day!

Good Morning!

I have yet to get a drink yet... Just hopped in shower now checking emails before heading to work.. Today is my late night.. I work past 5 and by the time I get home it is 6 and I am exhausted. LOL

QOTD: Raves: My flower beds.... I love having them and working in them. I am currently getting ready to expand one and bring some roses over that were my Dads... So I am antsy... I just love looking out and seeing all of them there and knowing I take care of them!

Suzanne,

I agree, there is an awesome feeling that goes with flower gardening, and being able to stand back and look at it knowing that you made those grow.

Happy Flower Gardening to you this summer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning Michigan
I am drinking peach water this am.   I guess I'm in a rut  with that.  I don't  drink coffee or plain water and most of the other drink add ins,  even the sugar free ones are too sweet.   I don't like sweet drink. I am really strange here,  I don't like sweet drinks but the one of the two pops I like after wls is mountain dew!   the sweetest one there is!!   I am strange!  I cant drink it because  I get so sick from it in just a few min.  but I like it!

My rave  is also Michigan strawberries!   Nothing better!  I am actually looking forward to all the work of putting them up.    I get mine from a friend of my moms  and get them more reasonable than most places.   One of the reasons I enjoy putting them up is My mom always insists on helping  and is again this year.  I can do 4 qts to her 1/2 gt  but who cares?  she enjoys it and Me too and I probably won't have her help next yr.
Have a great summer day everyone!!!

I had a very quiet relaxed weekend. today I get my hair cut and I have to start packing for our trip to Milwaukee,.I bought 2 quarts of what were called michigan strawberries for $5.00.The only problem I have with that is where the heck has it been warm enough in Michigan to grow strawberries.Up here they are running 3 weeks behind because of the cold weather. They also had michigan grown corn,if thats true I have an igloo in Hawaii for sale.LOL
