Hump Day Coffee
Right now I'm drinking cherry pomagranet (sp) crystal light, then I'll heat up a cup of coffee from yesterday. I'm not picky and hate to waste it.
I don't think the kids are finished with school here yet. I don't notice them around the neighborhood yelling and laughing during the day.
QOTD: my favorite thing was going camping in Interlochen with my family for two weeks in our tent. When we weren't on our 'real' vacation my girlfriend and I would go into the woods right behind her house and build rafts that we used poles to push through the creek. (We were Tom and Huck) She had a pool so we spent a lot of time in that too. It's amazing that we survived because we swam out there and no adult was out there watching us. We even dove into the pool (which I cringe about now) We were gone from morning until the streetlights came on. If I was wanted at home my dad would just go on the porch and whistle for me. He had one hell of a whistle and I could hear it a street over. I came running, just like a dog. Those were really the good ol days (I could actually run then:)

CEDAR POINT!!! My parents would take us every year for a weekend. We each would get to bring a friend. We would go down and camp at their camp sites and have a weekend pass to the park. It was the best!! I am hoping to make a trip down this summer.
There was also a week of church camp as well.
Summer was so care free back then......*sigh.
Have a great one!

Good morning,
Had hot chocolate in my cup this morn, and homemade peanut butter on homemade high protein bread, and a dab of homemade nsa blackberry jam for breakfast. Off for a walk down to RiverPlace (and to entertain myself while I drink a couple bottles of water). and then Jon and I are working on building a second bench for our back yard today. Tonight to my parents house to check on things there.
QOTD- Summers when I was a kid were fun, big neighborhood with lots of kids around the same age to hang out with. Large portion of it up at Higgins Lake was awesome ( mom's family,my great grandparents, grandparents, and my grandmother's siblings all had cottages on the same street). We swam most of the day, some boating and fishing with bonfires at night. A small portion of the summer my parents would take us on vacation to various places . We had time with my dad's family too, we spent a week or so at my grandparent's house to spend time with them and my grandmother's sisters who would come from Scotland for the summer. Then scattered days and nights here and there to help them in their garden ( A big thanks to my grandma for all of the picnics and tea parties, they rocked !!!!!!! ). A few times at Girl Scout camp too. Sometimes we would go to work with my mom ( we would walk back and forth from the Dr's office my mom worked at to my grandma's beauty shop on the other end of town and she would take us out to lunch to cafe next door). Often my parent's would let us have our friends over for the night to sleep under the stars out on our back patio. When we were old enough, we worked at the Tot Lot program at the elementary school ( I think it is called Latch Key now) we also had to have the house picked up, lawn mowed, and occasionally have dinner started when my parents got home from work.
Have a good day all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey all,
Just finished lunch, carbmaster yogurt w/ twigs and sticks, yummy!
Q: If was fun reading what everyone did as kids, I think I did what everyone else did, kids are kids everywhere! We had the pool, so everyone would come to our house. We had a big neighborhood with tons of kids to play hide and seek, that was always a fun time. My family would jump in our motor home in July and take off for a few weeks, we would head to Phoenix to see family, but my dad would detour just about anywhere we wanted to go on the way. Lot's of good memories doing that. Then when I was 10 my family bought a cabin on Secord Lake in Gladwin and I spent all my summers there from then on.
Have a great day all,
Edie

Its been a busy day for me. At least I got good news from the doc.
Q - when I was little my dad bought a old school bus that was converted to a motor home. It had a full size stove and fridge and slept 12. We would go for a couple weeks at a time. Anywhere in MI was fine with my dad as long as he could fish. When we weren't camping, I was tending the gardens and canning veggies and fruit for the winter.
