You may want to check out Grand Health Partners out of Grand Rapids. They do all 4 surgery types, including the VSG. And they have a support group that meets in Kzoo. I am not sure if they are now doing surgery down there as well or if you would have to come to GR for your surgery/appts.

Nothing against the doctors in GR, that the two posts above raved about, but why would you want to go to them when you have very fine Doctors here?
I had Dr. Verseman and he is absolutely the best! He is more than compassionate, he truly has the best interests of his patients at heart. He does the RNY, band and VSG. He is thorough and if you follow his advise, you will be successful in your WLS. I've heard stories from other WLS patients of his that have had issues and he goes above and beyond to make sure things are resolved. His support staff is great and will bend over backwards to make sure you get the best of care.
A lot of medical people have gone to him. I always feel that they have more inside knowledge of who is more skilled as they work with them.
I'm sure that Dr. Saber does good care, but I'm and a lot of others are big fans of Dr. Verseman.
Attend one of his information sessions at one of the hospitals at K'zoo.
Any questions, please feel free to p-mail me.

I'm a revision, had stomach stapeling in 1980. Revision to RNY 4/12/07
You will get the best, compassionate, kind care from Dr. Verseman. I work at Borgess Medical Center and we just got our approval for Bariatric Excellance. The nurses are great and even better is we have 2 great support groups. Both are different and you can attend both of them if you'd like.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
