Hello surgery scheduled for 6-25-09

Hi, I am a 54 yr old male who is scheduled for surgery on June 25, 2009 for the Realize Band. I have pre op testing on June 9, at the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti MI., Dr. Taylor will be my surgeon. Needless to say I am very excited and if anyone has helpful hints for me, they would be greatfully appreciated.  

Hi.  I just had my Realize Band done at the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti 11 days ago.  Everything went really great for me.  Surgery went well, didn't have hardly any discomfort afterwards, I never had to take pain medication.  I'm on the 3-week liquid diet for now and that's getting a little tired, but all-in-all I'm very pleased with how things have gone so far.  Much better than what I had built up in my mind.  I went to work after 7 days, but I could have gone back sooner.  I hope your experience is as good as mine has been so far.  Good luck!

I have a lap band, down 80 pounds in two years and still losing the last 40.  Make sure to follow the rules and never to be overfilled, which is the main cause of problems.  Chekc out the Lap Band site which includes both Lap bandsters and Realize bandsters.I used to work with Dr. Taylor at the DMC and you are in great hands, and I thin Barix has an excellent followup program.
