I have a question for anyone who has had RNY

I am 6 months postop.  I have lost 62 pounds from surgery, but a total of 96 pounds altogether.  Is it reasonable at this point to expect a long stall in weight loss?  I have not lost anything in the last 5 weeks, and have actually just bounced back and forth between 200 and 204 daily, which I am pretty sure is just from water weight ups and downs.  Is it possible that these last 40 pounds are just going to be difficult to get off?  Any thoughts?

Congratulations on your success.....It could be a plateau....I am almost 7 yrs out and hit them the first year...You can try and give yourself a boost...up your protein a little more..take a look at your carbs...maybe cut them down a little...and yes you can change up your exercise program...maybe switch days on what you are working on, do strenght training one day and cardio the next...sometimes all it takes is just a little switcheroo of your every day routine....and it will slow a little too, especially as you get closer to the honeymoon period being over...

I hit my first big stall at about 7 months.  I was just at 203-205 'i**** was like my body did not want to get to onderland!  Since that stall I've only lost another 13-17 lbs, it's very slow from now on, you'll still loose just not at the pace you were loosing.  You can loose for up to 2 years out.  Stay with the program, you'll get there.

Thanks for the advice.  I did a little research and do think this qualifies as a plateau and not just a stall.  Sigh.  Onderland is so close...just have to try to mix it up a bit I guess.  If all else fails there is the meat, cottage cheese and water plateau buster diet.  LOL
