Happy Sunday
Good Morning everyone!
I've been up since 5am. Nick decided it was time to get up and no amount of telling him it was Sunday made him go back to bed.
Today is filled with housework and errands and stuff. I had fun yesterday, so now it's time to work!
Here's my QOTD-Do you still have a sweet tooth? If so, how do you handle it (either post-op or on your pre-op "diet"). I really do. I try to keep stuff around me that I can just have a bite of that won't kill my whole day. Yesterday we of course went to the Astoria bakery downtown. I bought a cannoli and ate the end of it. Then I have to either throw the rest away or give it to someone. Yesterday my mom was the lucky recipient of my leftovers. I think you can have a lot of things after WLS, just in moderation.
Hope you all have a great day!!

Morning!
Brenda - sorry to hear that you have been up since 5.. I know I like to sleep in on Sundays and I can never seem to get past 7 or 8. I knew you would go to Astoria... best bakery down there!
I stayed up way to late last night so I will probably take a nap later. I have some house chores to do, some thank yous to finish, and I want to relax a little before back to work again tomorrow. I hate only having 1 day off at a time.
QOTD: I used to hate chocolate and now it seems that there are times that I crave it... Really weird I know.. I usually just take a bite or two and I am done. Also I allow myself to taste things but always walk away from it or just remember the results if I eat to much i.e. dumping... LOL I do not seem to have something sweet everyday. But then on the other end of the spectrum there are some things that are just WAY to sweet for me now that I just smell and cannot even bite into it. I think it is important being that although we had surgery to allow ourselves a little taste of it... I had this surgery to live, and enjoy life... I just have to do it in moderation like Brenda said
Have a great Sunday everyone! It will be in the 80s at the end of the week!!!

Good morning!
AJ calls me in the AM when he wakes up and that's usually around 6. This morning he wanted me to come early and help him shower and "stuff". So I was up early and got to the hospital around 7. Visiting hours are supposed to be 10 to 10, but I don't care. I don't think the nurses or techs mind either, as it's one less thing they have to do. So, he showered and I just kinda hang out in the bathroom. As long as he has a rail to hang onto and the bench to sit on, he's fine to do it himself. He even walked to the bathroom without a walker or anything, just me on his left side, "in case". I gave him a quick "mani/pedi" this AM, too. LOL! I told him when he's out of there he's going to get a pedicure. His feet are in rough shape. A good pedi is what he needs. He agreed.
Right now, he's sleeping and I'm just kinda hanging out, waiting for his PT/OT schedule. Then I'll head home while he's doing all of that and come back later, for the rest of the day.
QOTD: I have a sweet tooth. Always have. Probably always will. However, after surgery, I can eat a bite or two (or three or four) and be OK. I do not deprive myself of anything. I am not much of a dumper, but certain things will set me off. I really started being sensitive to sugar when I got pregnant. I've dumped more on "normal" sugar content things in the past 9 months than I ever had prior to that. Who knows what it will be like after the baby comes! I firmly believe that things in moderation are OK! I don't beat myself up for eating unhealthy things now and again! I know there are a lot of post-ops out there that will TOTALLY disagree with that, but everyone has to do what works for them!!!
That's what it's all about....that and the hokey-pokey. It's all about that, too!
Enjoy the day! Look forward to the next! Tina

Good morning all
Today's agenda includes sleeping in, doing homework and getting 5 miles in on the trails and trying to find my kitchen under all the crap. I also need to fit an oil change in there somewhere too.
QOTD -- I'm more of a carboholic than a sweets person. I can eat 1 oreo and be completely satisfied. I went to a wedding last night and ate about 3 bites of wedding cake and that was more than enough. Every once in a while I do have major cravings for chocolate. Since I've discovered the Chocolite Protein Bars I am able to stay out of the chocolate jar at work a lot easier. (Get them at Meijer for around .75 on sale.)
Have a good day

Hi Brenda and everyone.
Good Sunday afternoon. Nice to have the sunshine today but a little cool Hope Randy is staying warm camping.
Going to an ordination service this afternoon. I have never been to one and I was asked to run media for this one. So, should be interesting.
QOTD-Yes I have a sweet tooth. I always had one. I'm lucky to be married to a person who doesn't, so it is easier to stay away from sweets. Post-op I have just a little every so often. I had a donut yesterday, which I haven't had since surgery. It tasted awful. I don't know if my taste buds have changed or what.
I have a piece of chocolate at least once a day. It satsifies the craving for more.
Thanks for giving us the updates on AJ, Tina. Take care of the 3 of you!!!!

Good Afternoon!
What a beautiful afternoon here in mid-Michigan!
Taking a break from painting my bedroom ceiling - but it needs to get done.
QOTD: My sweet tooth as really changed . . I find crystal light to sweet . . but love chocolate cake baked with diet pop . . make it on Holiday's. My sweet tooth now is for fruit - especially a fruit smoothie!
Enjoy your day.

Evening Brenda,
Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 is early, been there too when I can't sleep.
QOTD- YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do still have a sweet tooth, I didn't until I was 2 years out. I have not ever tested the waters on real sugary stuff though. I do have one block of Lindt 85 % chocolate when I get cravings( it has about 1.5 grams of sugar for one decent size block. I also eat fruit when this happens. I eat Kashi pumpkin spice bars ( "the tasty little crunchies"). I also use Voortman flaxseed cookies, they come in regular, cranberry and new dark chocolate. They have 5 gr. of sugar in one cookie. Like Pam, I have discovered the Chocolite bars. They are pretty good and cheap too.
Hope this helps some, Phyllis
