It's the weekend!!!! Brewing my decaf this AM
Finally! Cool, wet and windy. Warmer weather ahead.....
What's up this weekend? Quiet for me. Going to Bariatric support group this morning..
QOTD-What's been your family or support's "AHA" or surprise moment since you began your WL journey? My DH says it is harder to find me in a crowd now because I am about the size of everyone else. Maybe I should wear bright yellow or something so he can spot me. Gee it feels good to blend in.....

Good morning Deb (and all who follow)

I'm up early for a Saturday.  I've got a race this morning and need to leave in about 30 minutes to meet Kristy and Lori.  I heard Pam E is going to meet us after the race too.  Looks cold and wet outside... guess I'm wearing layers.  :-)

I made a fruit smoothie this morning instead of my protein chai tea.  I made it with some fruit salad I had in the fridge.  Probably not a good idea to try and blend grapes, but otherwise it's not too bad.

QOTD -- my mom loves my new size because now we wear the same size clothes.  And I have a lot of clothes since I'm a Goodwill addict.  I also tend to reject clothes pretty quickly - so if I wear something a few times and decide I don't really like it, it usually goes to her.  She's thrilled.

Have a great day all!
Pam

Hi Deb and Pam,

just drinking s/f koolaid.  getting ready to go garage saling with the kids.  probably stick close to home this wknd.

QOTD:  well, my friends say that my "skinny legs" are pretty cool plus i don't have a lot of hanging loose skin i guess that's rare.  what they don't realize is there is still alot of fat in those areas keeping them filled out.

I was so excited that i could find my favorite jeans on eBay, and i know what size to buy that fits.  size 14, yes baby got back, fo sure.  i get them yesterday, but they are from the effin 80's and they are mom jeans, classic style.  and they are toooooo tight!!!!!!!! i was bummed.  i thought if i stuck with the brand i have and fit well into, there wouldn't be an issue.  grrrrr.  needless to say, i will be riding the bike again to shed 5 lbs to zip them up and Breathe.

keep safe!

Since you are a MOM, essentially any pair of jeans you put on are then called MOM jeans.  Right?  LOL!  You skinny legged...person.  LOL!  Have fun at the garage sales!

mom jeans 535 up, 55 down love it hate it
jeans highlighting the flat curvature of the 40+ buttocks. Similies: upside-down-heart shaped-butt. Commonly seen aacompained with front butt. Extremly high waist, and always a crappy shade of blue or black. Usually found in Kohl's or Mervyn's.
Often seen on the 40+ crowd, mom jeans are too high, too tight, tapered leg jeans which manage to showcase any bodily flaw the wearer has. Possible outcomes: The butt will be compressed so it doesn't stick out, it will instead be pushed to the sides, making it look far wider than it actually is.

I'm settled in at the hospital for the day.  I may step out for a little while this afternoon while he's at PT and OT.  Other than that, I'm just here to keep him company.  The little bit of double vision he has makes it difficult to watch TV or use his computer for any length of time. Makes for a long day when you don't have much to pass the time.

Drinking what I THOUGHT was a decaf, s/f caramel latte....but I'm not so sure after a few drinks.

ENJOY THE DAY!! Tina

Tina, maybe AJ would use talking books from the library, or a CD player.  I don't know if his perception of sound is affected.  Make sure both of you are moving around regularly during those long days at the hospital.

My biggest "AHA" moment from family has been when my three brothers, who barely have recognized my existence in my lifetime, have stopped to comment on how good I look. It amazes me that they somehow now acknowledge me, when they didn't even see me at 270 pounds.  But it is nice to hear them say nice things, even if it is just "looking good".

He has plenty of movies to watch and cd's to listen to on his computer.  His hearing is fine.  It's hard to watch tv sometimes, if his headache is really bothering him that day.

Today, we went outside for a while and then sat downstairs in the lobby for about an hour.  Needed a change of scenery.  He's up quite a bit for pt and ot.  They worked him hard today!  He likes it, though, as he's used to exercising daily.

 GOOD MORNING MICHIGAN!!!

Its sunday, and I am a day late on this post...but I figure better late than never!!!

QOTD:
I have had a lot of AHA moments in the last 4 years but I have a huge one coming up....My 20 YEAR HIGH SCHOOL CLASS REUNION. It is July 11th, and I am actually really nervous. I have not seen these people is soo long. Especially after moving to Chicago and New York over the years. I would say that 95% are married with kids. I am the ever single city girl. I was always the funny fat outgoing one in high school. All the popular girls were my friends and the best friend of the popular guys....I hung in the theatre creative group....it will be interesting seeing the dynamics. I think I look better at 38 than I did at 17.....should be interesting.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I am headed to church, then yard work and then hopefully off for a nice bike ride on the trails.

xoxo,
Laura
