Good Monday Morning Michigan!
Just back from spin this am. What's in your mug this morning? Decaf for me..
Hope your delicate annuals didn't get nipped by the frost this morning. It's a little chilly. Glad to see that Randy stayed warm. Must be a cozy camper :-) One more work week till our first summer holiday weekend. The DH and I are going to Chicago tomorrow for a couple of days of just getting away. Going to see "Jersey Boys" on Wednesday. Love Franki Vali and the Four Seasons...
QOTD-Any surprises this weekend, WL or otherwise? I am so excited with my garage sale find on Saturday. I was walking the dogs and came across a garage sale. The gals running the sale said they would tend to my dogs while I shopped. How could I say no.. I got this really great baby stroller for $10. All I had to do was clean it up and it looks brand new. The stroller would retail for $100 or more. My grandson-to-be will just love it. He is getting so spoiled and he isn't even here yet....
Hope everyone had a good one...

Good Monday morning!
I hope this is happening to someone else or I'm going to think something is up.....since yesterday, whenever I sign on to OH, there is a weird "band" across the screen.  It's a copy of the header that says "home, my oh, forums" etc.  But it is right across the latest post.  To be able to read Deb's this morning I have to click on it, otherwise that "band" goes right across it and I can't read it or reply.  I have logged out, logged back in, and used different computers.  I wonder what's up.

Anyway, I'm at work, drinking orange vitamin water.  Boss is off this morning so I am cleaning up from the fun we had on Friday before she gets back.  Deb, have fun in Chicago!  I have never been, but always wanted to go.

QOTD: No surprises for me over the weekend.  I had a good one, but nothing really new.  Even the guy who won Survivor last night wasn't a surprise to me!

Have a good day everyone!

I know I'm a dork, but I have to post this because I know you guys will be my cheerleaders.

I hate vegetables and most fruit.  I mean....really, really, really, really don't like them.  I'll bet I haven't had 100 servings of fruit and veg in my lifetime (well, since I was 5 years old and learned how to hold my breath and not open my mouth to take a bite).  I really believe that is how I got to be the weight I was.  I only like a few things (tacos, chips, pizza, nuggets) and that's all I will eat.  I am talking a serious aversion to healthy.  I will start to gag just thinking about eating broccoli or peas, etc.

So yesterday I am at the grocery store and I decide that while I am really watching fat, calories, protein, sugar, etc. I am still just exsisting on protein shakes and cottage cheese.  I do like lettuce, which I know doesn't count, but I eat a lot of it.  I made a goal for myself to eat the old "5 a day" of fruits and veg.

This morning I had raisins in my cereal.  My snack at work was celery and carrots, right now for lunch I'm eating an Asian chicken wrap with BROCCOLI SLAW, tonight for dinner is roasted corn, and then an apple for my snack.  Of course there is other stuff I'm eating, but that means I will get my 5 in today!  Yay me, eating like a good girl!  LOL

You guys have to keep on me.  Make me accountable for eating my veggies, ok?
Thanks for letting me confess my weirdness

Way to go Brenda.

The key is finding new ways to enjoy them.  For instance, my son wanted to try celery the other day.  Someone had it in school with peanut butter.  He is not a fan of peanut butter - he wanted to try jelly.  He did, he liked it and he ate it.

Pam

BTW - I gag at peas too - yeck

Good job Brenda, your a big girl LOL!

Like Pam said, find what you do like, I personally love broccoli slaw salads w/ diced chicken, YUMMY, however I detest and I mean detest green beans, so I don't eat them.

Experiment....you can do it!!

Good luck,

Edie

You need that cookbook that Jerry Seinfeld's wife wrote.  It's called Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good FOod.  It "sneaks" veggies and fruits into kids' favorite foods, like Mac and Cheese.

Tina,
That is a really cool book, I have been thinking of getting it for my husband. He is a very picky eater, but is getting better. I thumb through it every time I go to Kroger.

Brenda,

Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for making yourself eat fruit and veggies. I do not have any problem with them, but know people who do. It is a real hard thing to try and aquire a taste for them as an adult. Keep at it, you will win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Good morning,I have coffee with butter pecan coffeemate. This weekend was a weekend from H E LL.Friday my husband's defibulator went off twice,I hope I never see that again.I ended up calling an ambulance, he is in ICUThe doctor said it would be just a day or two so I wont go down ..Tomorrow they are transporting him to Milwaukee by ambulance to check his defibulator and do a procedure to increase his blood pressure. He just finished chemo last week for the month now this. They say God never gives you more than you can bear but sometimes you wonder that the heck he is thinking! The doctor said it will just be for a day or two so I wont be going down seeing we are going down for a week of radiation the 15th of June.
QUOD I really shouldn't be surprised but the deer ate the tomato plant I had in my topsy turvy!! I had it on my clothesline pole,I'm going to replant  and hang it from the basketball hoop ..I hope this will be high enough to keep them away from it.

Gussie, I hear ya on the saying "God never gives you more than you can handle."  I've been thinking that he must have a lot more confidence in me than I do!!! But we'll get through this....somehow, someway....
