Got my date

Got my date, August 10.  I don't know why these surgeons have to take summer vacations!  That's a three month wait...Dr. Genaw did say that I could be put on the move up list because my BMI is 'only' 40.8 and I could slide in without having to do the week of liquids.  I have my weigh in date, my surgery date and my post op date all scheduled, so now it's just making sure I journal my foods and exercise.  Does anyone use the on=line programs?  Can you print them out?

At any rate Congrats!!!!!  If yours is in August mines might not be until October/November which I think I would be cooll with since that would be the end of my son's first football season!

My Orientation is Tuesday!

Thanks God for creating, Jesus for saving, and the Holy Ghost for sustaining ME!

Are you using Dr. Genaw or Carlin at Henry Ford?  They seem to be booked up way in advance.  If you're going to U of M it might be sooner for you.  At least it's another step taken toward the end, or should I say new beginning?

I think Dr. Carlin isn't quite as busy as Genaw.  They'll tell you when they schedule your first appointment with the surgeon at the four hour orientation.  I could have gotten in earlier with Dr. Carlin, but for some unknown reason I wanted Genaw.  Have you done a medically supervised diet already?  That is one of the requirements, at least for HAP to cover it.

I have BCN and because my BMI is over 50 the medical supervised diet is waived!!

Just so you know Dr Steven Hendrick is a Henry Ford Dr..His office is down in Wyandotte and he is amazing! I had my surgery almost 4 1/2 years ago and have seen how many people he has helped.... he is laid back, available for questions, knowledgable staff, smart dietician and all of them are always willing to help and DO NOT make you feel stupid for some of the silly questions we tend to ask... His number is 734-285-7420... PM me if you have more questions.. I hate to see the other Drs be the only ones getting credit at HF... Dr Hendrick is the head of bariatrics at Henry Ford Wyandotte and is a great surgeron...

They just weigh you and review your food journal.  Whatever you do, do not gain weight.   Good Luck.   Hang on for the ride.   If you need anythig, e-mail me.    Carol
