Thursday Morning Coffee

Hi all -

I woke up when something fell on my room just above the bedroom.  Probably just a dead branch from my big oak tree in the front yard.  No damage, just a big bang.  Then the wind kept me awake.

QOTD -- Peace.  I have a peace about my life that I treasure - an inner calm among all the craziness that's going on around me.

Have you read any books by Eckhardt Tolle?  He has that kind of outlook.

I tried.  Really, I did.  LOL!  When Oprah had The New Earth and that whole online series with him... I tried to get into it.  But I just couldn't.  I think my problem is that I don't do well to READ those kinds of books... but I can get into them if I'm able to listen to the audio book. 

I just listened to Jack Kornfield's "After the Ectasy, the Laundry" and it was really inspiring.  But I doubt I could have sat down and actually read it.  So maybe I need to try and find a Tolle book as audio book and see if I do better with it. 

I couldn't get into The New Earth either.  Came with high raves, but I guess it just wasn't for me.

I am drinking peach water this am.  I have gotten rid of 10 of the 16# i gained over the winter!!!!  Only 6 to go. 
I woke during the storms because hubby gets up at 330 for work but did go back to sleep for a couple hrs later.  
QOTD I think satisfaction is something I cant buy.    I haven't been able to find a job lately  so I do some volunteer work  mostly driving seniors and fia clients   helping others gives me a good feeling.  
Also a good family is beyond price

At first I thought you were gonna say The voices in Your Head are priceless!  I would be like, me too!!!

I have done quite a few errands today already.  Just sams club then done.  Yesterday me and leo went with a group from the local dog park out to lake orion's dog park.  we had such a blast.  dog people really do rock.  I think days like yesterday money cannot buy.  it was like i said, Nature.  no fights between the pups or anything, they just meshed.

I was going to say something about those voices in my head :-).
Your puppies look like they are having a grand time at the dog park. Dog people DO rock! Are you known by your dog's name. Like, I'm know as "Oscar's (my pug) Mom"? Wish we had a dog park close by. Our neighborhood has a lot of dogs....

I am known as Leo's mom to everyone.  as a matter of fact, i can name all the dogs there yesterday, but none of the people!  I am sooo bad at that crap.  I only have the one dog, but he is plenty enough for me.  We were also invited to a puppy class at the local petco.  He started to play box a young female pitbull in the aisles.  I guess neither one of us is too shy, eh?

i hope you get the position too!

Morning all,

I'm having some iced tea right now, had my shake and viti's a couple hours ago.

Q:  Good health - right now mines not so good.  Except my intestines running all over the place and giving me pain occasionally I feel great, I'm so thankful that I had this surgery, it's the best thing I ever did.  But...isn't their always a but... I had a Bronchoscopy yesterday (because of the masses they've seen in my lungs) and because I'm such a gagger I had to have anesthesia.  He didn't see anything, but we weren't surprised by that, the masses they've seen in my lung could be within the tissue or on the outside of the lung and if he couldn't see anything, he couldn't bx it, but he did take washings and their being cultured, so hopefully they will give us an answer on the lung issue.  But then I still have to deal with the intestine issue, I dropped all my films off at the surgeons office yesterday and asked him to look at the 2 chest x rays and compare them to the 2 CT scans I've recently had and see if he can see my intestines moving around in there, then we have to decide what to do.  I'm afraid I'm going to end up back in the OR, but, I'll do what I have to do.  So that all takes me back to the question, you can't buy good health and when your in the middle of all this crap you really miss the daily norm, healthy feeling I've been enjoying.

Sorry I didn't respond yesterday.  Brenda I'm glad Nick enjoyed his cake, you sound like a wonderful Mother.  Deb, glad to hear your interview went well, I hope you get good news next week.
