When's your next appointment? It's so important to follow your surgeons plan, do something wrong while you're healing can lead to major complications!
With that said, and it's been about 2 years for me so it's hard to remember exactly but I think I was about 1 week post-op liquids. Don't be afraid to call your NUT and get their advice -- they're there for questions like this.
First food I believe was yogurt
Hang in there, you're doing great!

Thank you for responding. :) My surgeon doesnt clear anyone for soft foods until 3 weeks after surgery But, I was reading on the main forum that someone with the same surgery date as me was starting to eat soft foods. Just Jealous I guess. lol I will keep trying to follow this liquid diet for the next two weeks. 5 weeks total UG! I would really like to chew something.......

Hey Lisa!
Oh yeah, I remember wanting something to stick to my ribs! I had a lot of creamed soups, like cream of potato because it was thicker. Just strain it first. My first soft food was cottage cheese. But my fav was refried beans with some salsa in it. Now that hit the spot!
Eat a lot of Popsicles too. It counts as liquids.

How about jello, you kinda chew that... kinda, I could also have yogurt (non fruit) after the first week, but I remember dying for something, but being scared to eat it!! Talk about "crazy lady"!!! I think my first meal was refried beans w/ melted cheese, YUMMY, scary but yummy, my next fav. was egg drop soup, but I added so much "fake" eggs, it was like scrambled eggs in chicken broth, I absolutely LOVED that, looked gross, but tasted like the bomb.
