Well on my way!

Yesterday, I had my consultation with Dr. Zeni and his staff at St. Mary's Hospital.

These guys have one well put together and organized program.  I left knowing my surgery date, what steps I needed to complete, and a good sense of how successful things will be.

I know I read that some of you guys have run into programs that charge a fee of 500 or 1000 dollars to cover additional cost well I asked about this at the office and the RN told me they do not charge fees and that they feel it's ridiculous.

I'm not sure what other programs are like but these guys really do have their act together.  I still can't believe I have my surgery date after one visit.

My next steps are chest x-ray, blood work, endoscopy, and psych eval.

I think I lucked out, I don't need to get an endoscopy! I keep reading about others getting one, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Congratulations on your date and how fast things are going!

Good luck!

Sounds like you got smooth road to surgery.  I did too.  Sometimes the Programs really do all the leg work for you.  I used Barix and its the same way.  Do you know if you have to do a pre-wls diet like liquids or something?  That was the deal breaker for me.  Luckily mine didn't require it.

Now its just a waiting game for ya.  Be Patient.  Read as much as you can and ask many questions.  Pick the brains of our veteran wls'rs.  We are here to help.

I'm becoming a very jealous person.  I had to jump through all of the hoops, testing, education classes etc before my first visit with my surgeon, and then I don't get my surgery date until my second visit with him.  The program at Henry Ford Hospital is also very well organized, it just seems to take sooo long.  I get my surgery date next Friday, but expect it to be two months out.  Maybe I'll luck out and slip into a cancellation that's sooner.  I'm sure everyone else is getting tired of my jealousy posts and whinning about how long it's taking.  Sorry everyone.  After next Friday I hope to be in a better frame of mind.
