Good Morning Michigan!
Got a good cup of decaf and black in my hand. What a way to wake up...
What's your wake up juice this morning?
My favorite Kalamazoo idol got the boot last night on American idol. Too bad for Matt, but a great career ahead for him..
Looks like a rainy day ahead.......
QOTD-Spring starts the festival season and the Tulip Time is coming this week.  Live not so far away from it and never been to it. What is your favorite festival in Michigan? I love the Ann Arbor Art Fairs in July... We usually go for a day and can't get through the whole thing.. Always find the neatest art there. Kalamazoo has a great Art Fair the first week in June. It is like going to the A2 fair, but smaller. Can't wait for the both of them..
Have a good day!!

Hi Deb!!!

I want a s/f vanilla ice latte so badly from mcd's, but I am too lazy to get one!  I noticed it is cloudy and overcast today.  Sucky.  I forced myself to stay home from the dogpark yesterday cuz Leo was limping a bit.  He needed another day of rest.  He missed it cuz he was giving my DH a hardtime barking and growling and jumping around.  He wanted to play.  He usually does that to the older dogs at the park, but they get fed up and chase his cowardly ass under the picnic tables.

QOTD:  I dont usually attend the larger festivals in Michigan.  I like the church fairs and carnival type things.  The smaller the better.  BUT, I have to say, I love Ann Arbor.  Not just for the art fair, but to hang out.  It is such a cool town.  Always something to do.  I am the most conservative hippie you will ever meet.  I just like the ambience and the energy.

Good Morning Deb and everyone else!  I am drinking a tropical punch protein drink 15cc at a time.  Remember those days? lol  Today is my first day on a full liquid diet after my surgery on monday.  I came home yesterday afternoon.  Someone please tell me I will be pain free sometime soon, One week? two weeks?  The gas pains are the WORST.  they started last night.  The surgery went well, I had an awesome roomate and I so glad to be home.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, they are much appreciated.
QOTD- We usually go to the local festivals, but I would love to check out the Tulip festival too.
Im off to walk walk walk.  :)

awwww Lisa   I promise it gets better!  And the fact you are up and walking so soon, means you are on the mend.  and it helps release gas.  maybe buy some gas x strips if you get to the store.  i remember the shoulder pain was unbearable.  they say that's from being under the anesthesia.  but you are doing so well.  just take it slow, rest often.  hell ya, NAP!  enjoy the napping.

I didn't know anything about getting gas pains after surgery in the shoulder/back area, until AFTER surgery.  I thought I had thrown my back out by sitting in the recliner too long and was going to the chiropractor to get it fixed!  It did seem to help, but if I had known ahead of time, I probably wouldn't have panicked about it.

Pain free?  Well, the gas will be gone in a week or so.  As far as the incisions go, it will be a couple of weeks.  I remember having a sneezing fit one day a few days after surgery - OMG that hurt SO BAD!  I think I tore one of my incisions.  I have never had that happen before, and I sneezed ALL DAY LONG.  Hasn't happened again since (just the occasional sneeze, but nothing like that).

Take it easy and get your naps in - sip sip sip, walk walk walk....

Are you talking about the gas that's left over from the surgery itself (the gas they use to "inflate" your abdomen to give them room to work)?  That gas moves up into your shoulders and causes pain there.  The only thing that worked for me and THAT type of gas was walking...a lot.  I wore a path around through my living room, kitchen and dining room.  LOL!  It does get better.....

Oh my gosh Deb!!!  Total Spoiler Alert!  I DVR'd AI and haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I just got a cool brochure that lists all of the festivals in Michigan by month.  DH wants to go to the Asparagus festival, and I would like to go to the Mint one.  Some times we go to the Strawberry Festival in Belleville, but that's small and not really fun.  I have never been to the A2 art festival, because we can never get a babysitter long enough to go!  Oh yeah, DH
loves Ren Fest in  August/September.  He even has a costume.....dorky, but cute in his own way :)

Hope you all have a great day!
