There are 10 "probable" cases of swine flu at Hope College. Tulip Festival has started & if any of you know the Holland area, Hope College & downtown Holland are pretty much 1 & the same. All of the college students hang out downtown + there's carnie food there(ummm, who wouldn't be there??), & all kinds of activities. You just know it's going to spread!! Trying to stay calm & not freak out, but w/small children, it's easier said than done!

Hi Lisa, I have been trying to message you with no luck. For whatever reason it doesn't want to let me type in the body of the message. Anyway, it is letting me reply. I am also a patient of Dr. Footes and I am scheduled for DS surgery on May 12. I would love to talk with you about your experience. Please send me a message so we can chat.

Thanks,
Lori

The swine flu is not that big of a deal.  Just because the word swine is in front of the word flu doesn't make it more deadly, or more contageous than the regular flu.  If you're worried, wash your hands frequently and if that doesn't satisfy you just stay home.

True...people like to sensationalize things.

My mom drives a bus for Plymouth-Canton and they just called to say the school is closed on Mon and Tues. because a high school student has a confirmed case.

I am worried just because my oldest son has health issues and he would be more suseptible.  If I didn't have him to worry about him I would just do what I do every day...which is wash my hands after going out, etc.

I saw a doctor on the Today show telling people that the silly masks will not work.  But you can bet people are going to jump on the bandwagon and wear them anyway.
