RESPONSE back from ZIPLOC Omelet

Please know I meant NO harm to anyone...I had a few response on my earlier post about the ZIPLOC OMELET...that is was unsafe...so I wrote Ziploc..and they wrote back..I told them I was very concerned...
This is what they wrote back..Ziploc bags can be used with confidence when label directions are followed. Ziploc bags are NOT designed or approved to with stand the extreme heat of boiling: therefore using them to make any recipe that requires the bag to be boiled is NOT RECOMMENDED.........

We do make a microwwaveable bag that is perfect for omelets. ZIPLOC BRAND ZIP'N STEAM.

I hope that helps and again sorry I meant NO HARM.........Hugs Bev

That's a great suggestion & thanks for updating all of us!! I wouldn't worry about causing anyone harm-thousands of people have been cooking in the regular ziplocs & other brands for years. I always heat food in the microwave in baggies & such & I'm still living to tell about it....I don't know what's up with this strange twitch, tho.....

It is probably a marketing gimick to get you to buy more products.

Bev,

Thanks for the update, I made one of your fantastic omlets for dinner tonight and loved it.  The next time I go shopping I will buy the steam bags just to be safe.

I did notice when I boiled the bag, it got real soft like it melted alittle.  No big deal, I am still alive and well.

Thanks again for the great idea.

It is very easy....Just put two eggs (NO MORE THAN TWO) in a ziploc bag...then add Ham, Cheese, or anything else you like in a omelet..but if you do put onions or green pepers I like to saute them a little before I add them..then make sure bag is sealed shut have a pan of water boiling..keep boiling..add the bag..cook for 13 mintues no longer than 13 mintues and the omelet will roll right out of the bag..I hope you enjoy and Lots of Protein....Hugs Bev

Oh yes, I forgot to add just squeese the bag to mix up all the ingredents...
