I am on my way.....
I am a newbie to the board but I wanted to introduce myself. I am Tracy, I live in Macomb County and have HAP I started this journey last October with all the researching and stuff. Well as of today I got my medical clearance and am set to see my surgeon for the 2nd time on June 8th on this day I will have my surgery date. My surgeon is Dr Carlin through Henry Ford, if anyone has had him or is going through him I would love to chat. I am excited and scared at the same time but this is a decision I have made with lots of thought and prayer.
Sorry this is long I just was hoping to meet some people I can share information and get advice from, I have to loose 25 pounds by the time I go back in June I have lost 2.5 last week, I weigh in again tomorrow keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for letting me run on.

Hi Tracy,
I live in Warren. I also have HAP. I started the journey with my pcp, Dr. Massaro in November. I had to write an appeal letter to get the approval to take the next step. Yesterday I got my medical clearance too. I was on the 15th floor at 10:00. Maybe you were the person I sat next to...were you reading a book? I have my second appointment with Dr. Genaw on May 15th. He hasn't said I have to lose weight before coming back to him, but I'm considered a lightweight. My BMI just hits 40. I've got a lot of co-morbidities.
Don't ever worry about 'running on' that's what this forum is here for.
Good luck with your weight loss.

HI Jan,
I too was on the 15th floor, but my appt was for 9am I was 20 minutes late though thanks to traffic on 94. I weighed in at WW's this morning loosing another 2 3/4 pounds for a total of 5 1/4 in 2 weeks, not too bad. I try to get to water aerobics 3-4 times a week too.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
