HAP ins people
I am pre-op and I have HAP. I saw my surgeon yesterday and one of my questions was regarding a panni or tt. He said it's pretty hard to get HAP to pay for it. I've listened to others on this forum and most of them say you have to have medical reasons. For instance, keep track, with your pcp of the rashes and infections that you deal with because of the hanging skin. If you have been treated enough times for these things I believe HAP will pay. You have to have everything documented, and my surgeon said you'll (and your pcp) probably have to write appeal letters before you're approved. Keep trying, the squeeky wheel really does get the oil.

thanks for your reply, I have had no rashes or problems with the skin area ( knock on wood ) I am having really weird back pain in lower back ? wondering if it could be the extra skin pulling down, maybe I should try that ? best of luck on surgery. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself!

HAP paid for my tummy tuck, but I had to go through the apeal process, I had to go as far as the in-person appeal. If you are willing to fight for it, they will pay for it. YOu will need to have documentation from your PCP that there is a medical reason, and not just cosmetic. Also documentation from a dermatologist. I would not tell them that you do not get rashes. And if you do, go to the doctor, and also take pictures. Hope that helps. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact me.
