Well, I saw my surgeon today. Dr. Genaw is very nice and likeable. Now I have to go to a different doctor for medical clearance and then back to Dr. Genaw on May 15th when they'll schedule my surgery. Everything is good to go right now, except I've lost an inch! Which makes my BMI over 40 now. Oh well, not for long.

hi jan.. he is a really nice guy-- are you seeing dr rocco for your clearance? how much weight did he tell you to lose? I can hardly wait.. and I know you can't either... thanks for keeping us posted.

No I'm not seeing Dr. Rocco. Some lady Dr. on the 15th floor can't remember her name right now. He just said I'm an excellent candidate and didn't mention anything about losing weight. Maybe at the appointment when I get my date. Now I'm counting days until I see him again. It's almost like wishing my life away, but I know the sooner I get this done, the sooner I can live again!

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

That inch really meant a lot to me. I think I'm going to have them measure me again when I go back. I used to be able to stretch to 5'7" and now they're telling me I'm 5' 5". I don't like that.... I've always been 5' 6", just because I'm 'older' now doesn't mean I have to be shorter. I'm going to practice stretching so I can be 5' 6" again.

You haven't gotten approved from the insurance yet have you? If not your better of being an inch shorter with a 40bmi. Than you can grow taller again

I've been approved by my insurance since December 08. I've got co-morbidities that got me approved. I'm going to have them measure me again when I go back. I just can't believe I'm only 5' 5"
