Just a reminder.....

Dr. Cudjoe in Alma Michigan has once again invited Dr. Vincent DiNick to come give his presentation on Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery to their support group.  Whether it is from major weight loss or an interest in general,  we would like to extend the invitation to anyone who may be interested.

Dr. Vincent DiNick is an extensively trained, board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon.    Dr. DiNick will cover a full array of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures for both bariatric and non-bariatric patients. He will show before and after photos for most common procedures requested after massive weight loss. He will also take the time to answer any questions as a group or one-on-one.

Dr. DiNick and Barix Clinics joined to form the first comprehensive plastic and reconstructive program integrated into one of the leading surgical weight loss programs in the country.

Dr. DiNick performs surgery out of Barix Clinics Ypsilanti, as well as in his own private surgical suite in Novi

If you are interested in attending this FREE seminar please call 800/282-0066 EXT. 4729 or you can email my self.  Please feel free to invite a friend or family member.  You may also contact the group leader, Tammy Strack at 989/463-6699.

Free Seminar will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 6 pm to 7:30 pm.  The seminar will be held at Gratiot Medical Center, 300 E. Warwick Drive, Alma, MI  48801.

Hey Carey,

Does Dr. DiNick have anything on his schedule for the G.R. area?

Thanks,
K

Hi K!

I am currently trying to find a group in Grand Rapids that would be interested in having him.  If you have any suggestions please do share.  I will definitely look into it.  Our next one will be in Brooklyn MI next month.

Have you been in contact with Grand Health Partners at all?  Not sure they would be open to it, but now that they have broken away from MMPC, they may be.  Their practice manager is:  Kim McCorriston  -and-  the main number is:  616/956-6100.

Personally, I don't find their 'meetings' to be much of a 'support', so I rarely attend.  I really wish they would work on that -- not many people attend, which is a shame for pre-ops looking to interact with post-ops.

While we have nothing official, there are several DSers in the area that I am in contact with and get together with often.  I could definitely generate an audience for him!  What would be the target attendee number?  Would he be willing to do an interactive  -or-  do any  'marking up'  of areas to be worked on during this time with potential patients?

I am targeting mid-winter for my first (of many!) PS, so while I'm not in a huge hurry, I am ready to start exploring options.  Traveling isn't an issue for me, but with such a large bariatrics practice in G.R., I would think that there would be some interest in Dr. DiNick locally.

Also, isn't there a Barix Clinic in Holland?  There was one there when I was exploring WLS, but they didn't perform the DS, so wasn't an option for me.  That is also relatively  'local'  for G.R. area folks, as long as it isn't winter!

Thanks for the info!  I put a call in and left a message with the head nurse Amy.  She is the person to schedule guest speakers.  Maybe they might be interested.  We would at least expect 12 -15 for the attendance.  It does have to be in a private setting.  He does a whole presentation with a slideshow of before and after pics.  So it really needs to be in a private room.  Can't have people just wandering in....lol.  But yes, I have been trying to find a group large enough in that area.

Oh and yes Barix has an office in Holland.

Thanks for the info!
