Morning Michiganders.......I'm up way too early but had to have some hazelnut coffee with my Any Whey in it...just can't resist that stuff.

Today's plans include:  more unpacking, cleaning the litter box and more unpacking and possibly going to storage to find things I can't find here in all the 200 boxes I've already gone through.

QOTD:  How were you introduced to OR how did you find out about Obesity Help.com?  And what are some of the other forums you frequent here?  And finally, have you made any really great friends from here you wouldn't have met otherwise?

I googled "RNY forums/support" and found a few but this one had a Michigan forum so I signed up.  I sometimes visit the "40's forum, the singles forum, the horseback riding forum and the main board".  I've met quite a few great people on here including my BFF, and some really sweet peeps (sf I might add) who have really been a great part of my success!!!

Hope you all have a great day and enjoy the nice Michigan weather!

Good Morning Stacey and everyone.  I am five kinds of tired today.  Not sure why.  Maybe it's the rainy weather.

I heard about this forum at my support group.  Everyone was saying how horrible it was and how all this site had on it were people that told you how to "cheat" after surgery.   Well, I had to see it for myself!  Luckily, I started reading at a time where there was no drama, just lots of good advice.  I only read the MI page......I just can't handle more that that LOL

We used to plan "meet-ups" where a lot of people from the board would hang out.  Those were pretty fun.  Through those activities I have met some great people (and some scary ones).  I kind of wish those meet and greets would start up again.  It's always fun to see people in person that you read about every day.  Oh yeah.....and we used to do Secret Pal on here.  That was not so fun.... my vote is to keep that one buried and not bring it back!

Have a great day!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

I just walked back in the door from walking the pug. So glad to have no rain for a few minutes. Yesterday was so miserable....it just seemed endless. It was very productive inside, but was missing that sunshine from the weekend. Max ( my pug ) just looked out the window and sighed all day...he has spring fever and is ready to be outside!!

Today is a trip to  LIFE TIME (gym) for a good cardio session and then endless errands. My mother is on vacation and coming to town for 4 days....so its off to prepare for a long awaited visit. It will be the bank, post office, pet store, CVS, Kroger and COSTCO

I found OH actually through the magazine. I read and followed the boards for a good year and a half while I looked into the surgery. What intrigued me was the Before and Afters...the amazing transformations. I would just fantasize about being able to have that be me...I would spend hours just looking at the pictures. I frequent the main board and the state board....wish I had time for more. I have met AMAZING people on here....but I have also experience some very sad souls. This is such an amazing resource for anyone at any stage of their journey. I wish we all embraced the community for what it is and can be....and kept negativity and aggression in check.

Every state should be so lucky to have a morning coffee chat such as yours!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!

xoxo,

Good morning all!

I tried Click for the first time this morning.  Umm.... Yuck!  Gimme back my protein hot chai tea, please.

QOTD -- Not sure how I found OH other than just Googling it while I was researching WLS.  Also during my psych eval it was recommended I get involved in OH, but by then I already was knee deep in it.  I originally found the Bay City Support Group through this forum and have met some fantastic friends.  And now I lead that group.  Back when I was first researching surgery, I never dreamed I'd be this involved with such a great group of people!

EDITED:  Oops!  Forgot to answer the second part of the question.  I also frequent other forums on OH.  You'll find me most often on the RNY forum and also on the Main Board.  Every morning I do my meal planning and post on the "What your eating/doing today?" thread on the RNY board ... then in the evening I post what I actually ate on the Main Board in the "Eating Good in the Neighborhood" thread.  Keeps me accountable and on track.

I always try to make a stop every day on the Diet & Nutrition forum -- since they removed the professional nutritionists from that forum there are a lot of people who go there with questions that never get answered.  So I do what I can to help.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

Good morning.

Brenda, I was up between 1 and 2AM.  That's about the time hubby gets home from work.  So I got up to chat with him, after being on the phone with him for 45 minutes on his ride home from work.  No wonder I'm so tired!  Him being on 2nd shift really sucks!

Anyway, just working today.  Lots going on at school today.  We have "visitors", so everyone is on their best behavior!  LOL!

QOTD: I found OH on my own.  In the beginning of my research, it was one of the 1st sites that I found doing a google search.  I only visit the MI board, now.  I have ventured to a couple other boards, but the MI board suits me best.   I have met several people from the board. Some have become great friends and will remain lasting friends.  It's nice to have someone to commiserate with!  LOL!

I've been to other sites, as well, but always come back to this site. I actually haven't been to the others in quite some time.  No need.

Our MI get-togethers were fun, but difficult to organize because we are all so spread out.  It was always hard to find a time/day/month that would work for most!  Not that we shouldn't try again, but I know after a while, it got discouraging.  But at least we can stay in touch through here and if the occasion arises, we can always meet in the future!!

I actually see SUNSHINE today!! YAY!!

Enjoy the day! Tina

Hello All!
I should be drinking water but for some reason I am not doing well with this today.  I  Go tonight to sign my final consents for surgery with my doc.  Less than one week to go.  I am really considering adding to our family, something in the way of a four legged pal.  We have a big ol chocolate lab, but I think its time for another one.  Maybe a Saint Bernard or maybe a great dane.... or a mastiff.....  lol  so many choices... I would have 2 of each if I could convince hubby. :)  We have had 2 saints in the past ,but lost both of them to seizure disorders.

I found OH thru my Doc's website.  I look at the main forum sometimes, but it feels more personal here at the MI forum.  I hope everyone has a great day and stays dry :)

I bought Chocolate EAS protein last week so tried it with the decaf and a shot of SF caramel this am.  Not to bad.

QOTD:  Dr, Williams recommended involvement at my PHYC eval.  I joined in September but wasn't impressed.  I kept getting adds and couldn't navigate.  Than I tried again in December found all the message boards and great folks and have been hooked since.

Other than here I visit the Lap Band board (which really has become the banded boards.)  I visited the surgery date boards pre surgery but stopped after as it became a RNY board and was to depressing to visit.  I have stopped in to many of the others like the 50's but they aren't very active.  Mainly MI, Lap Band and Main.

Good afternoon everyone!! Lunch time for me now & I'm behind on my water intake so chug-a-luggin! I believe I first heard about OH in 1 of my pre-surgery 6 month required classes(weightloss program). I think it's such a great site, I recommend it to everyone, whether they want to know about or not! I only frequent the MI forum & the DS forum. Pre-surgery, I also hung out on the Lightweights & the VSG forums.  I don't know why but I haven't visited the lightweights since surgery. Obviously, I don't do the VSG forum anymore because I went for the full DS. I did enjoy that forum, tho!  I've met a couple of OH'ers in the waiting room of our surgeons office but friendships were not created, just acquantainces made. At some point I'll meet up w/fellow DS'ers, I know for sure! I tend to be a loner(aside from hubby & kids, of course), altho I do crave close friendships sometimes. I'm really a shy person & have low self esteem. I always think people don't care about what I'm thinking or what I have to say isn't important, so I just don't say anything. I bet you guys are wishing I would just shut-up now, aren't you?  geesh-there's something about these questions that turn me into a soul cleansing blabber mouth. Enough already!

Have a great day everyone!!

PS-where's the sunshine???? It's been raining here all day again!

Lisa!  I never would have guessed you were shy or self-conscious.  Your posts are always great...I hope we get to see more of them.

You know what?  Pre-surgery, I didn't have any friends, and I thought it was because I was overweight and shy.  Now that I'm post-op, I realize I don't have many friends because I'm mean and judgemental and don't like people very much.

Oh yeah, and as far as where that sunshine is....it's HAILING outside my office window right now.  Seriously!
