It is dark and 2am.  I went to a scrapbooking session yesterday and am winding down and heading to bed.  So I have stopped drinking.  What are you having as you start your day?

QOTD:  Do you do anything special to honor you surgery anniversary?

I'm just 7 weeks out so am curious what all you vets (and short timers) do or don't do to honor that life changing date.

(thought I'd give this a try, the worst I can do is bomb)

Good morning Michiganders,
I am having my Crystal lite this morning and am ready to enjoy a great spring day. 200 lbs lighter I do everything special nowadays since everything I do is better! So in answer to the QOTD is"Yes ofcourse" Since everything I do now is different, better ane easier, than before, everyday of my life is now so very special.

Good morning!

I'm up early this morning (for a Saturday) because I have a 5k race and need to leave in about 30 minutes.  Then I'm heading to a "12 hour" scrapbooking crop ... except I'm going to be late because of the race and a couple errands, so my 12 hour crop will be about 8 hours.  Which is fine since I'm kind of not in the mood for scrapping today anyway.

QOTD -- for my 1 year surgery anniversary I was on the beach in Florida with friends.  It was a last minute trip so I didn't specifically plan it for my anniversary .... but as it happens, I'll be on the same beach with the same friends for my 2 year anniversary too.

However, my official gift for myself was a pandora charm.  but instead of wearing this one on my bracelet like the rest of my WLS reward charms, I have it on a necklace.  I plan to get a new charm to match every year for my surgery anniversary.

Here's a picture of myself at 1 year and you can see the necklace.

That is a very  good reward Pam.  What a change you made in that first year.

Morning.. I am off today!!! YIPPEEE... .I have not been off on a Saturday in a couple of months... So today I am heading out to some Mom 2 Mom sales and then going shopping with my BFF... Then heading to dinner with our hubbies. It will be an awesome day. And I love this weather too.

QOTD: The first anniversary I marked it with getting a charm bracelet that has my weight on the day I had surgery and then the weight I weighed on that day. It helps remind me of where I was and how far I have come... Every year since then I usually always take a picture and add it to my scrapbook. I made a scrapbook with pictures from every month along the way of the first year I had surgery. It is only a 7X7 book so it is small but I have shared it with others to show my progess that first year and how fast it seemed it change for me. I also tend to do something to remind myself of how I used to be... This year was 4 years and I actually got to see my surgeon on the day that I had surgery for my yearly check up. It was nice to be there with him and his staff... That was a big reminder for me.. I have had struggles along the way but to see it there in plain view was nice.. I just like to think back most of the time.. I try not to think of it daily since my life can be chaotic since then.. but it is nice to spend that day reminding yourself why you did it and what you have accomplished.. Of course I would love to buy myself jewelry every year.. I have told myself that if I get back down and lose these pounds I am dealing with I will get myself something next year! Especially since it will be 5 years then.

I like the scrapbook idea.  My daughter just said last night she had an old 8X8 kit she'll never use.  5 years is a big one.

Rise and Shine, Clementines!  Wakey Wakey, Eggs and Bakey!  (these are annoying things I yell at my kids to get them up, and I thought I would annoy you guys with too!)

It's cold in here today!  I think DH turned the heat down because of the sun yesterday but now it's really frosty in the house.  I'm getting ready to go to a funeral.  That's never fun, but I am glad I get to see my brother and sister together for once.

I don't do anything for my surgiversaries.....the only thing special I did was wait until I was a year out to get married.  I wanted to be able to fit in the seat on the plane.  But an interesting tidbit:  Whenever we have to remember anything we refer back to my WLS date.  It's the only thing everyone can remember.  Everything is thought of as "was that before or after my WLS?".

Hope you all have a good day.

Not annoying at all Brenda!  It is a beautiful sunshiny day!

So WLS surgery will take the place of kids.  It was always,  was that before ...which every kids name here.
