Dr. Genaw and HAP-

hi all.. my surgery is scheduled for 6/22  and I just noticed that jan said she had a stress test- i have not had one, but wanda said i have everything that i need and scheduled -- did any other HAP people have to have a stress test?  I'm just wondering if i am supposed to have one or not..

It is up to the medical clearance doc.   I did not have to have one.

It wasn't Dr. Genaw that ordered it, it was Dr. Massaro.  He just wanted it done pre-op to make sure.  I'm old remember.  Can't wait until next wednesday.  I'm hoping I'll get a date at my first visit.  What do you think?

Hi Jan-- thanks for the info on the stress test... I guess since I am a youngster I don't need one..:)  I think you will get a date!!!  Yahoo for you... how is your weight loss coming?  Did you get my private email to you about that?  have a great weekend... enjoy the sunshine!!

It is quite possible that if you had an EKG, he might have seen something and just wants to make sure. 

Basically, you are hooked up to an EKG and then put on a treadmill.  You start walking and then the incline increases along with the speed until you can't take it anymore.

I know as I have had them before (not for WLS) and my mom is a CCVT (certified cardiovascular technologist).

Its up to the doc who does the medical clearance. I didn't have to get a stress test. They only do it for patients who have cardiac issues already. The stress of any surgery can be hard on the heart.
