Tuesday Morning Coffee
Hope you all had a good weekend. It sure did fly by quickly. I think the Europeans have it right by having both an Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. One can never have too many holidays.
What's brewing this morning? Decaf and black for me! Need it to wake up this morning....
QOTD-Since you began your WL journey, this time, what do you feel is the biggest difference in your success than at any other attempts? I feel that the surgery has really controlled my hunger. I used to do Weigh****chers and found myself constantly hungry. It was so hard to keep the "points" in range as I was so food obsessed. After my band and a couple of fills, I find myself rarely ravenously hungry. That is the biggest difference I've discovered.
Have a good day. Stay dry as I hear the rain is just starting...

I am working this morning and then I caved and am going to the Dr at 1 to have this cough checked out. Since I am done with a 10 day round of amoxicillin and I am still coughing... Like we said the other day it is just lingering.. I have a new PCP and I have to get used to the way she does things and she has to realize that amoxicillin just doesn't cut it for me. LOL
I hope everyone has a great day... just think the rain may be dreary but it is helping all those plants we look forward to seeing!

Just finished my usual . . cup of skim milk.
QOTD; For me it's that I'm more conscious of what I put in my mouth, if it doesn't have any nutritional value I don't want to eat it. . . not to say I haven't it's just that I am more aware of what I eat. I am now and will always be an emotional eater just trying to be a better at how I handle it.
Enjoy your Tuesday!

Having some Starbucks 1/2 caf, 1/2 decaf Breakfast Blend with s/f french vanilla creamer and a touch of chocolate creamer. Yummy! Drinking my water, too and watching the news. I want to go to the Detroit Zoo and see the new Polar bear!!!
QOTD - Like many others, I could lose weight on my own, but couldn't keep it off. WLS is the tool that has helped me to keep it off. I'm curious to see what happens with my weight after I have the baby. I've only gained 10 pounds (I'm about 8 1/2 months along) and it took a long time for me to gain that. I did worry early on that I wasn't gaining weight. I was afraid that I just couldn't eat enough, but I just had to figure out HOW to eat (which is like every 2-3 hours). I'm finding as I near the end, I can't eat as much at one time. I get EXTREMELY hungry, but the baby is filling me up, which leaves less room for food. So, I eat OFTEN!! Which sometimes scares me because that is REMINISCENT of PRE-WLS behavior!!! I do feel, however that after the baby comes, I still have 'the tool' to help me get back on track.
Whew! That was an unneccessarily long answer! LOL!
Enjoy the day! Tina

Just about done with my fake latte this morning. After my carb-crazy weekend I am pushing the water intake yesterday and today... so will be starting on the crystal light soon.
QOTD -- For me it was the CUT. Because I have PCOS my body simply would not allow me to lose weight -- I did 2 full years of 1200 calories and exercised my butt off but still couldn't lose a single pound. In fact, during the 12 month Dr. supervised diet I started and ended those 12 months at exactly the same weight - to the ounce. The insulin resistance and hormone imbalance really screwed with my body and broke my spirit. So for me RNY was my last and only option. The simple act of cutting my intestines fixed the insulin resistance issue and I was finally able to lose weight. Dr. Obeid told me during my initial consultation with him that my religious dieting was helping me to maintain my weight and without it I would be steadily gaining. Without the cut I'd still be struggling ... working my a$$ off just to maintain a level of morbid obesity.

Morning everyone!
Last night was my first meeting with the Bay City Support group and it was nice meeting everyone in person!!
QOTD: For me, I'm still so new (5 weeks out) so I'm HOPING the difference this time is the fact that my new 'tool' will help me maintain once I lose the weight. I have lost more than 100 lbs four different times in my adult life....the last time in 2002 I lost 134 lbs by doing the Adkins. But as soon as I was 'done' losing, I started gaining...that's the way it has always been for me. I'm a pro at losing weight, I just can't maintain once I've lost it. so for me, I hope that WLS will mean that my weight loss is permanant.
Have a great day everyone!
